Hi,

New to this site and recently diagnosed. The only contact I’ve had with needles are beauty related.

After having a blood test for menopause they found this little gem. Hepatitis C. I’m in utter shock and very scared. Have a scan and an appointment with Liver Specialist soon. Anyone have anything positive to say with a good outcome? I’m absolutely terrified.

Thanks In advance

Hi,Hep C is easily treated now, mainly just 1 tablet a day. From 8-12 weeks, the side effects are hardly there although some people do have them. You will see the difference once you have cleared the virus, you think that you have felt OK now but you will feel loads better after.

Don't worry as like I said it will be just fine 🤗

Thanks so much for that. I’m hoping to start treatment in the next few weeks x

Dont worry. There is no need to worry at all.Left untreated hep c can sometimes over 30 years or so cause liver damage. The good news is that the latest treatment is to take 1 tablet daily for approx 8 weeks and after this period there is almost 100 percent sucess in completly clearing the virus.I used to have hep c myself but was given tratment on the nhs now im cured.
