Interesting article. However I think the data for women from the HUNT study shows a U shaped curve. The risks of getting heart disease in women is highest at cholesterol levels below 5 and again over 7. So according to HUNT the "healthiest " levels in women are between 5 and 7, higher than the accepted "norm", if you want to put it like that.

Thank you for this information. In many ways clarified some things I have begun to believe. It is good that professionals are beginning to raise their heads above the parapet at the risk of getting shot at with regards to statins and are willing to be heard.

It's good to see members of the medical profession standing up to be counted! There are more and more of them it seems.
