Clear tests, still worried though..!

Hello. I suffer from health anxiety and have been experiencing worrying symptoms for 2 months including sleep paraylsis, dizziness (especially when lying on sides), arm/shoulder pains , migraines and palpitations. I have had a good few tests, all of which are clear but I'm still worried. Are there heart conditions echocardiograms, ECGs, 24hr monitors AND X-Rays can't detect.?

I am male, age 21, fairly active and with a lifetime history of anxiety. My mother has a leaky valve, my grandfather (father's side) had heart attacks after age 40 and I have infrequent ectopics.

It sounds as if you have been thoroughly investigated which is good, we have to trust that the professionals are confident with their findings. Have you been referred elsewhere?

Dear Daxter

I believe you would benefit greatly from good counselling; or psychotherapy of the CBT

type. Dont let wait list put you off- Meanwhile find some relevant self help books at local public library . Failing these a good friend might be willing to learn therapist role. Advise you avoid anxiolytic pills such as Valium Activities like Yoga, swimming, running helped me a lot.
