I’ve been suffering with ectopic heart beats on and off for forty years and been on several medications in the last ten years which seem to control them but more recently I’m finding medications are doing the job so I’m considering an ablation basically it’s starting to control my life and I need to do whatever it takes to get back in control any ideas?? Thanks Andy

You've probably tried these but just in case - I find Magnesium Taurate helpful and also a small dose of Bisoprolol. One or the other or both have calmed mine down to a level that doesn't bother me any more. I find that too much sugar triggers them and I have given up alcohol. Good luck. :)

I too find Magnesium helpful in reducing missed beats though in my case I use Magnesium Citrate. If by ectopic beats you mean missed bests, I was told by a cardiologist that they were not harmful and would not affect how long I lived. He said I could get rid of them if I took tablets but this was only worth doing if they caused me to worry. I just accept them. So many kinds of arrhythmia it can be confusing.

I cured mine (30k ectopics a day) with iodine drops and Earthing.

My ectopics had a definite cause - I took Tramadol for two years and it is a known problem. Yours may be different but it might be worthwhile looking into.

Also look into Earthing. There is a movie, 'The Earthing Movie' that's worth watching. The heart works on electricity, that's what ECG's measure, and can easily be confused if too many signals are coming in. Earthing can fix this.

If you want to try it, just stand on the earth/grass in your bare feet for twenty minutes before bed or, if you can feel the ectopics, do it when you can feel them and see if it stops when you Earth yourself. It's free so worth trying.

I developed dreadful ectopics after my Covid booster in January (I had 3 Pfizer vaccines). When I saw my EP in February he told me to increase my magnesium, even though I was taking quite a lot already. I also increased my beta blocker (went from 1/2 tablet a day to having a full one every second day and 1/2 on the day in between).

It has definitely helped and I am far less symptomatic.I still feel my heart getting bumpy at times but it’s a lot better than it was.

Look into motherwort.I have taken it twice daily since December and now I only have some every now and then. I was having thousands a day, bigeminy, trigeminy,it was awful. Now much much better. I too take magnesium taurate, malate, and glycinate.
