A mother of little 5 year old girl that has asymptomatic Long QT syndrome (inherited from her mother) that she has been told to use an AED if she becomes symptomatic and faints. I thought this a little harsh and would like to see if anyone out there can help with some advice.

What type of arrhythmia can be caused by Long QT Syndrome
Hi Shcldavies, I don't know anything much about this as just a layperson, but as no-one else has offered an explanation, can I suggest that you read the NHS article about Long QT Syndrome. Sometimes I find that the NHS informatinal articles are a little oversimplified, but at least they are understandable by nearly all, and the information given is reliable. You can find this one at
nhs.uk/conditions/long-qt-s...
Thank you, I can now understand.
