Although supposedly not considered dangerous there are many who will feel your pain. I had them on & off daily, night time was hell. Since my PM Insertion they have reduced dramatically. I would suggest trying your cardio/ GP for some help.

They gave you a pacemaker for pvcs?

Stumpy47 in reply to Contra21

Noo lol (Bradycardia) but was told it might improve the amount of ectopics I was having, which has proved to have happened. Sorry if it came across that way :-)

I’ve had them for years back then when l had them l was 13 years old l suffered palpitations and l would blackout get dizzy and faint l was very young then but now I’m older I get them quite often my doctor diagnosed me with mitral valve prolapse and I have a heart murmur but it has to be more to it l had a ekg which came back normal I’m scheduled for a echocardiogram soon but these Arrhythmias are really annoying l can’t take it anymore thank you for the reply

Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

I get like 6 a day it feels like a fluttering sensation skipped beats it feels like extra beats it feels like flip flopping in my chest it feels like a pounding thud it races and it is very noticeable like you can feel your own heart beats it’s really uncomfortable and scary because you don’t know what’s causing it and you don’t know how serious this condition is so it is concerning

Contra21 profile image
Contra21 in reply to Dee1982

But.you do know youhave mitral prolapse drs say my echi is Normal amd i shouldnt worry.but im im fear daily worrying when or if they happen

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

Yeah I know I have mitral prolapse but is that’s what causing the palpitations how do I know if I have to have surgery or not it scares me to think about the what if’s

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

I was misdiagnosed for having afib by my old doctor the doctor that didn’t take my condition serious so l had to switch doctors and my new doctor is amazing he suspected something was wrong when he listened to my heart he said l have a heart murmur he said that’s what’s causing my mitral valve prolapse

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

He said it could be related no I don’t take any medication he gonna send me for a echocardiogram and l had blood work done on Tuesday

Contra21 profile image
Contra21 in reply to Dee1982

Have you had one before? Or a holster monitor ? If you have had these since you were 13 how have the drs not given you an echo or monitor yet. Poor thing I’ve done every test and they say I’m fine but they happen I can’t be 37 I feel physically 80 always dizzy

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

I have had a echocardiogram before but that showed mitral valve regurgitation that was a year ago l never had a holster monitor though l have been to the ER for the Arrythmia but everything came back normal l don’t know why l haven’t gotten a holster monitor yet l am gonna talk to my doctor about that and see if I can get one sorry that you are going through this l appreciate your reply thank you

Hoe do you cope with them

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

It’s many things l tried but nothing seems to work l tried breathing techniques l tried drinking a cold glass of water l even cut out caffeine’s and sugars but I still get them l don’t cope it’s so frustrating all l do is think about what’s gonna happen next l panic every time a episode comes on l just have to deal with it it ain’t easy especially when l have 5 children to take care of l barely have time for myself it can be stressful at times how do you cope with it

Contra21 profile image
Contra21 in reply to Dee1982

I don’t and I’m alone wow five kids lucky u I dream of having a baby but scared it’ll get. Worse

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

It’s just me and the kids so if I we’re to go to the hospital I don’t have any one to look after them l have to get through this so l can be around for them but it’s so hard to deal with do you get palpitations when you’re sitting down or laying down

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

I could just be sitting doing nothing and out of nowhere l get these bad Arrythmias that’s the scary part because there’s all types of them some are good some are bad and some require medical attention so it is a serious condition if you’re getting them multiple times a day l use to get them bad at night but I get them during the day now l don’t even go out because I’m scared I’m gonna get an episode while I’m outside it’s not fun at all

Contra21 profile image
Contra21 in reply to Dee1982

Serious condition? All my drs said it washarmless

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

Some can be serious depending on what type of Arrythmia you have you need to do some research on the different types of Arrythmias I’ve been researching a lot on the types of Arrythmias and the symptoms that go along with it

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

Some can cause sudden death like ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation

Contra21 profile image
Contra21 in reply to Dee1982

NOW IM FKN TERRIFIED

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

Research and find out information about Arrythmias you will be surprised what you find out google Arrythmias and it will give you the different types and the symptoms

Dee1982 profile image
Dee1982 in reply to Contra21

Half the doctors don’t even know the types of Arrythmias all you have to do is research

Hi Contra21. I've had these "things" for decades. I've also had just about every test with near perfect results, tried medications, counseling, etc. Sometimes I think my index finger is a permanent attachment to my opposite wrist. Dumb, right? You are not alone in this journey. What I would like to say, is that our hearts are very sturdy little guys or gals. Sometimes the electrical impulses become a bit sensitive (much like a hiccup) and do not fire like they should, which causes those horrid skips, flutters, poundings and feelings of doom. But, being the miracle it is, the heart will recover and beat normally. You're on the right track by trying to stay calm. My cardiologist has these and even he admits that they get to him. Knowing what they are and listening to those that have them helps to desensitize my reaction to a bout of them. I will also drink cold water, try deep breathing, change positions, walk and keep telling myself that they will not hurt me (i.e., get my heart out of my head). They can consume you if you let them, I know this only to well. If the doctor has done a good work up on you and all is well, you will be okay, they are annoying and scary, but harmless.

Thankyou so so much for replying !I feel exactly like you. always happen when I. OST calm and not anxious. Every test every scan only for them to say they are ectopics pvcs .or tachycardia which only means fast heart. 2016 I had them non stop for a whole day and that still gives me ptsd. I have hypothyroidism is it that. No they say. I have looked at every possible thing! ppl say it can be anxiety but I’m. Oh no where as anxious as I was and these beats make me more anxious and fearful. Not dangerous They say but when I get one I panic I’ve tried calm therapy everything it’s just horrible for me. Unfortunately like you I’ve always got my finger ready to feel my neck and when I sleep they are always there and have consumed. I haven’t worked InYrs .They are absent for a few weeks I start to feel positive and boom, do you get them daily? Do you have them absent for a while?

I am so sorry you are dealing with so many of these. I may have a day/week/month where they hit off and on or it feels as if there is a constant fluttering just waiting to develop into a big one, I've had them almost knock me off my feet. This morning at 3:00 a.m., I had some hit, which woke me and when I changed positions (laying flat), had a bunch of chaotic beats and went into a run of 150-160 beats a minute. I went into the panic "I'm going to die" mode, then I got MAD, got up, drank some cold water (gets the vagus nerve - you may want to read about this) and did some deep breathing. I did some old fashioned cussing and decided to tell my heart I loved it in a psycho effort to calm it/me (counselor's advice). This was the first time in decades that I did not let it ruin my day. FYI, I try not to lay flat in bed as this makes the heart beats more noticeable and will be investing in an adjustable bed to try the 'zero gravity' position (interesting cardiovascular info I came across when looking into these for my back). Hypothyroidism is not supposed to be related to PVC's, but I wonder...if you are on meds for it, is there a chance they may increase your levels too much at times (this happened to a co-worker = PVC's)? There is a world of info out there on various supplements, drugs, causes, treatments and life style changes. I have a great, compassionate Cardiologist and an Electrophysiologist who, LOL, basically told me to suck it up and ride them out as they will not do me in (he's still a good doc). But knowing you are not alone and that you can talk to others that are experiencing what you are experiencing is invaluable. There's a lot we can learn from one another. I hope you see a decrease in these episodes.

I'm praying for you that God will step in and comfort you. I was terrified when I was diagnosed with brady-tachy with pauses 2 1/2 - 3 secs. Now I'm being treated with Digoxin to lower my rate, and a pacemaker to prevent it rate from dropping too far. I'm 60, never felt better.

What can God do to help with this problem ?

There is no good anyone telling you not to worry you will, and worrying only makes them worse unfortunately. If you have had your heart all checked out and it's fine then my advice is to try some stress management such as relaxation/meditation and try to distract yourself. I was plagued with short runs of them as well as short runs of SVT. I had several holter monitors and event monitors and eventually had a reveal implanted monitor to see what was going off and within a month it had caught a short run of svt and I have been offered an ablation. I then decided I was taking another approach, rarely drinking alcohol, no caffeine not logging into groups such as this and facebook groups any more (as it was keeping my mind on my heart). Keeping well hydrated, eating well and starting to enjoy my life despite of them, and guess what, at my last check up they couldn't find any incidents of anything of significance. I will still check my pulse occasionally but nothing like I used to. Also, look on facebook for a cardiac consultant called Sanjay Gupta this is his website yorkcardiology.co.uk/. He is amazing, he has posted loads of youtube videos and there is one on ectopics. Send him a friend request and he will accept. He has even answered private messages which massively put my mind at rest. If you haven't been fully checked over this is a must, after that these needn't ruin your life, everyone has them, some feel them more than others! Good luck

No reassurance helps as the feeling stops me in my tracks. I eat well even became obsessed with healthy eating tried it all! Did you take meds? Or was dr like youre ok now live with them type thing
