Bisoprolol and PVCS

I’m a 25 year old female that’s a mess right now. To start off my dad has a heart condition to where he gets into VT. He has a defibrillator, and he’s in his 40s. He recently had a genetic test done that says his condition isn’t genetic. But my cardiologist was like “well that doesn’t really mean anything” which scared me!

When I was pregnant with my son(6 years ago) I developed tachycardia which is normal for pregnancy but mine never got any better so I started on carvedilol. I would have occasional PVCs but I didn’t think anything of them, I didn’t even know what they were and they didn’t show up in any monitors. Then after my dad was diagnosed I became more scared about what was wrong with my heart. So I started seeing the same cardiologist as him. They told me the same thing, I just had sinus tach. Well I started waking up with an extremely high heart rate and constant PVCs and this would last at least 15 minutes. They caught it on the monitor and just said “sinus tach” and said it was my anxiety. And the monitor did catch like 4 PVCs over a months time. Ever since then my life has been hell. I will wake up with a crazy heart rate.. or sometimes I will have PVCs all day or sometimes not at all. I sit on my couch with a BP cuff and pulse ox monitor and won’t leave my house because I’m scared to death I will drop dead. My heart flutters with PVCs a lot. I know stress makes them worse but I can’t help it. I’ve been on 2.5mg twice daily of Bisoprolol for a couple months now. It helped my fast rates a lot but I still get quite a few PVCs. Sometimes it’s like I can’t take a deep breath with out it happening. It’s so uncomfortable and I feel like I’m not breathing right. Now for the past couple of days I’ve been having low BP and low heart rate like 55-60s which isn’t normal for me. Mine is usually in the 80s-90s. And when it’s low like this is like I feel pauses like my heart has stopped. I also constantly burp and have been told I have acid reflux. They also say all of this goes hand in hand. But what’s really bothering my right now is the slow heart rate, with PVCs.luckily I have a 14 day monitor on. Can ANYONE relate?!

Hi I can definitely relate to this. I started having pvcs since after I had my first panic attack and because my dad had a heart problem the more panic I get regarding it . I've had an echo and monitor which was all normal just showed the pvcs . I think I've just become extra aware of what my heart is doing now and I get a very fast rate now and again.Sometimes think it's from the anxiety makes you more hyper aware of everything x

Thanks for replying! Yes! I am very hyper aware of my heart rate and it’s taking over my life. They keep telling me all of my tests are normal. I’m sending the monitor I have on tomorrow and I’ve very every single symptom that has been bothersome to me so I hope if everything comes back fine and normal I will calm down. Anxiety just makes everything worse! :(

Hi

I am on bisoprolo and it slows your pulse and lowers blood pressure so pretty sure that’s reason my pulse is in the mid to late 40s so sorry you are having such a crap time ectopics are horrible especially when they go on & on for hours at a time

I had every test and monitor all came back

Normal which pretty sure yours will to

I know how worrying it is maybe you need some Valium to help you for a short period ? They helped me at start of my bumpy skipping beats now I am doing way more things and coming to terms with pvcs ( ectopics ) & my cardiologist is fantastic guy even answers my texts xx

Search for Dr. Sarah Myhill and GERD for the probable solution to your acid reflux.

My experience tells me you may have subluxations in your neck and back. No one will tell you this. Find a corrective chiropractor and eliminate this possibility.
