Hi Mindy. I had my first ablation about nine years ago. It cured my A/fib but started flutter a year later. It meant I was doing much faster rates than before and were very distressing. Eventually I was started on sotalol, 40mgs twice daily, which was a bit hairy for ten days then settled into a good sinus rythmn. This lasted six years before breakthroughs. I won’t go into the details, but if I had my time again I would not have opted for any more ablations. I would rather have carried on with the tablets, gradually increasing them over the years to control the arrythmias for as long as possible.
