Who do I see, I cannot sit on a chair for more than 20 minutes, then I lose feelings in my small finger and upper digit of next finger on my left hand, due to operation on my left elbow which removed a benign neuroma. My right leg comes out in sympathy, I can move it but 'pins and needles' entire leg, due to benign neuroma on right hand side of spinal cord [not all removed] [fucking annoying as I write this email!!] in 1997. This has only happened this bad since I have had to sit on my fat ass most of the day due to pandemic! I recently had two MRI's in one week, one spinal, the other prostate, at least my spine is ok , my prostate is enlarged, [no sex now?] I have osteoarthritis and diabetes 2 which does not help matters? I am seriously considering removing small finger on left hand myself, but would I still get what you call 'phantom pains' as the brain would not re [have to stretch my legs!] cognise my 'amputation'? I had to wait two and a half years for my back and four years for my arm, this plus the pandemic how long will I have to wait?

Sounds like pinched nerves causing paresthesia is at least one part of the problem. Perhaps in more than one location. Suspect there is something that can be done short of removing the finger. Doubt amputation would fix the issue since the problem is not in the finger itself. Suggest seeing a neurologist - likely the NF specialist - who should be familiar with the problem. Given that you have scar tissue from the surgeries, would think it may that may be a part of the problem.

BPH usually does not preclude an active sex life, unless the pudendal nerve is affected somehow. Surgery for BPH can certainly affect it however. Protecting the pudendal nerve is critical in any prostate surgery as as protecting your bladder neck. If you need to move on prostate survey be crystal clear with the doc about those two priorities.

Too much ass-sitting will definitely make everything worse., including osteoarthritis. It is more dangerous than getting out and moving even during the pandemic. For an at-home activity, I have had great success with Qigong. There are many "forms" you can practice. Some are stationary. Some reacquire space - but not much. It REALLY does help. Here are two videos of forms I practice myself.

I tried to get started on Yoga but my 'cadaver' was not able to bend properly to go into proscribed positions? I went to a chiropractor for many years but after I smashed my chest with a severe seizure three years ago, I actually fell off my exercise bike! I was going to restart on the exercise bike again but thought better of it, with the arthritis and the enlarged prostate. I found a stopgap for the finger, it sounds a bit drastic, a bit of wire around the finger that light plastic coated stuff and my hand has actually stopped shaking! [I will not sleep with it on!] I was nearly at the end of my tether today, the weather is dreadful and general outlook worse!

My kitchen diner would be an absolute peach for a session room my sister helped me repaint it orange, with a large Brueghel painting at the back, last year, open area about 8 foot by 6 foot, even my 7 foot high fridge just off it, perfect! Actually my sister is after my exercise bike? A particular area in my back garden about the same size, plenty of high fences around!

Neurologists are rare people around here, but just via pure experience I know where to ask, I am actually getting known in the right areas, at last, I believe my GP would agree with me on that, pressing the right buttons, as you mentioned before! Those operations happened a long while ago, back; 1997, left elbow; 2012. My main problem there is exceptionally long waiting times especially in these pandemic times?

My finger has caught a couple of times on various things since 2012, and the operation, I used exercise on a tension ball to get the circulation acceptable in the hand before, but amputation has been suggested before several times, even going full it is only about 35-40% of normal?

Qigong will look that up, thanks for the info. that lady reminds me of the lady who did a body massage on me, walking on my back etc, we had to stop my y-front elastic broke! [no sex involved!] Have not had sex for over thirty years! Ironically my bladder is still in full working order!

Thanks hunter 5582 you have really made my day! As they say over here I owe you one!
