My wife aged 48 years suffers from frequent cold and throat pain and the infection is almost once a month. Is there any natural way of getting over it.

When away from home, I keep my fingers away from my nose, mouth, eyes, and ears to lessen the chances of infection from contact with objects touched by others.

I'm convinced that this has lessened the frequency of colds I pick up.

This need not be an obsession, just a precautionary habit that becomes second nature.

Having a good nutrient packed diet may help. Particularly vit C and E also zinc. Exercise and use paper towels rather than sharing them. Hand wash antisceptics to keep the germs at bay.

Are you sure your wife doesn't have an underlying immune issue? Does she work with children or students? Does she have any nutrient deficiencies? The most common are iron followed by vitamin D.

If so then it would be expected that she picks up frequent colds.

Apart from correcting any nutrient deficiencies - doing as Terotech1 has stated, not smoking, not drinking too much alcohol, exercising and eating a balanced diet there is nothing she can do.

Add onion, amla, orange, strawberry, musambi frequently in your diet, that will boost your immune system.

Your wife should try cutting out dairy food of any sort to see if this makes a difference. I know myself that cheese, yoghurt and any sort of dairy food makes me prone to colds and being generally bunged up. I've read that dairy increases the production of mucus. This should be made known more generally as the side effects of dairy consumption adversely affect a lot of people, but I do think that a lot of the medical profession don't believe it is so prevalent. I can take milk in tea or coffee but am usually unwell after moderate amounts of cheese, which is a pity as I love it.

Could your wife be suffering from silent reflux rather than colds? This can cause a sore throat and build up of mucus in the throat with cold-like symptoms. With silent reflux you do not suffer from heartburn, but may have an irritating cough, often worse at night.
