Garden of Eatin' Price Increase?

Anyone else notice that it looks like Garden of Eatin' has tried to hide a 36% price increase? At our local Food Co-op today I bought several bags of Sesame Blue chips. Same size bag, identical in appearance to bags purchased a few weeks ago. Same exact price as before. Difference? Previous bags were 7.5 OZ. New bags contain 5.5 OZ. Sneaky.

I've noticed that out at the local store by my house that the size of Greek yogurt and a few other items I buy are going lower in size, as well. Some of the yogurt brands have gone from 6.5 to 5.3. Very disappointing, but this is when we say that there's room for mix-ins. :-) :-(

They call it "shrink-flation", the process of making items smaller but keeping the price the same.

It's typically because manufacturing has grown more expensive, so the manufacturer has to make a choice over whether to increase price or decrease size.

This does seem quite excessive though - a 25% reduction is quite steep!

That's a 36% price hike.

I'd take my business elsewhere.
