I recently read about a woman from Alaska who was using nutritional/cheesy yeast in her cooking and baking. She is said to have great relief with her arthritis after eating this . Apparently the high Niacin content helps symptoms of Arthritis. Has anybody on here tried it or had any success with this yeast? Or, are there any drawbacks to using it? Bedford Boy.

Hi there BedfordBoy nutritional yeast is indeed healthy and great in sauces and I know its believed to help reduce inflammation. Here's a link about the best foods for arthritis, please see:

I hope this helps and do let us know how you get on. 👍

There's no real harm trying it :)

It's a good source of B12 and other minerals. It tastes a bit cheesy.

To start, maybe try to gently toast 50g of cashews in a frying pan, add to a food processor with 1tbsp of nutritional yeast (add more if you like) and blitz to create a dairy free alternative to parmesan. It'll keep in an airtight container for a few weeks. Sprinkle over whatever food you like :)

I honestly can't vouch for whether it helps arthritis but I do keep a tub and just stir in a big spoonful to my soups, sauces, stews before serving, or if I was making, say, vegie burgers, it adds richness and hopefully some nutrients :)

I often use nutritional yeast but its not helped with my fibro pain but that doesn't mean it wouldn't help with arthritis. My Nan always said that having a teaspoon of Apple Cider vinegar (must contain "the mother") in warm water helped her arthritis 😁
