What do like cooking or baking the most?

β€’16 Replies

Hi everyone,

With the interest in healthy eating and preparing more meals ourselves because of the lockdown I wondered what any of you have been enjoying baking or cooking.

I've always liked baking bread the most and thats stood me well during the pandemic/lockdown as I have been so very grateful that I can bake gluten free bread thats wholesome at home, as it keeps me busy the smell is wonderful so I find it something very positive to do. I baked this bread this morning, its brown gluten free bread with quinoa flakes on top for extra flavour and nutrition. Quinoa is a complete food as it is one of the few foods that contains all the vital nutrients that our bodies need to function.

We love photo's of each others meals bakes so don't be shy folks and I'd love to know who been baking what!

Remember the healthier we are the better we stand against COVID19! And on that happy note enjoy the rest of your day now folks and stay safe and well. 🌈😊

Good question I love cooking because I can learn from my mom because i watch my mom cook and bake . but i also like baking because my mom makes the most yummiest desserts. So i like both its so satisfying to see the whole process of how a dish or dessert is made .

oh yes πŸ‘πŸ» 😍 it’s soo good I should stop talking about it or I’ll beg my mom to make it 🀣🀣

A very good question Jerry and I have to say it's baking for me. I love to make raw fruit bars, sweet potato brownies and of course sourdough bread, I'll be cooking that tomorrow. I've made raw bars and brownies today as well as I've ground down roasted peanuts and made peanut butter.

Stay safe and well and enjoy your evening.

That's a great choice Alicia as I've seen your baked goodies and love the look and sound of all them and I'd find some of your sourdough bread followed by a sweet potato brownie very agreeable...Have a lovely evening yourselves and you keep safe and well now. πŸŒˆπŸ‘πŸ˜Š

You always give us ' food for thought' with your questions πŸ˜€ I love cooking & baking. Cooking is a necessity but for me it's also a hobby as I love to scour the recipe books for something new to cook & inflict on the family. Thankfully they seem to enjoy it!!! And baking, my way of relaxing & giving us that much needed treat for the weekend.

Thank you tas1 that's very much appreciated all I want to do is encourage others to eat healthily.

I'm impressed that you enjoy cooking and baking as it is very therapeutic in so many ways so I bet your family appreciate your efforts.

And as for treats we all deserve those and home baked ones are so much healthier and wholesome so I'm very pleased for you. 🌈😊

I have bought a soup maker, it's so simple to use and you get lovely soup with no additives. My favourites are leak and potato, and carrot and parsnip. I can make enough to last four days. It's lovely.

in reply to Hassell

Hello Hassell I'm the soup maker LOL! But your soups sound delicious I love the sound of leek and potato and carrot and parsnip very tasty and wholesome.

I bet its lovely so good for you and we love photo's of everyones else's meals so if you ever want to post a photo then please do. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Love all things cooking and baking always have done. I come from a family where I was the eldest of 6 back in the 1950s/60s and all meals were made from scratch I loved helping mum we always had proper food nothing much was 'convenient' if it was it was occasional fish and chips on a Friday tea.

So as things are ATM it was a very good grounding...

in reply to ali-may

Hello ali-may I can relate to this even though I come from a smaller family, as I grew up in a small country town and have happy memories of fish and chips as a treat on a Friday and a 99 in the summer so yes things have indeed changed and yes we are well set up for this. Enjoy your evening now. 🌈😊

Hi Jerry we got take away fish n chips from Morrisons cafe yesterday pixie was flaked out for the night wonder why lol😸a happy cat indeed, as for what I prefar cooking or baking at moment cooking as mam does the baking as you know, but when I lived at home I had regular baking days and I'd make keich with spinach tomato cheese sweetcorn sometimes brocholli I liked to make massive vegetarian sasag rolls Victoria sponge cakes coconut loaf cakes sultana loafe when I get my new house I might get a breadmaker as shop bread is full of preservatives and my grans bread was lovely, how do you get your bread not to be heavy, mam had arm pain again and dizzy as laid down room was spinning it happend other day too since injection but as she sat up she's ok now tho it was the pfiefer one, hope you enjoy your day cooking baking or whatever I would say over all I like cooking and standing over it usually in a frying pan lol and in more of the form of a potato lol as I just love chips and of course love battering my own fish and watching it become irresistible and of course it's pixie favourite too πŸ˜‹πŸ˜
