Hi everyone,

Here's what I made for dinner tonight its quinoa green lentils and veggies cooked in my slow cooker with spices and a little gram flour to thicken. It's definitely Autumnal food and it's starting to feel like Autumn, it is the Autumn equinox next Tuesday anyway.

I love quinoa as it has these little curls when cooked and it is action packed when it comes to nutrition so with lentils and plenty of veggies is a healthy balanced meal, its gluten free and plant based.

Enjoy the rest of your day folks. 😊

Thank you Zest its getting noticeably darker earlier every day too. 😊

We tried quinoa and found it acceptable and often enjoy lentil soup as well.

Tonights dinner here was jacket potatoes, haggis and mushy peas which we enjoyed.

One good thing to have come out of all this is I'm a lot better at cooking than I used to be as we cook at home more now than we used to and will carry on with in the future.

Thanks Isabelleta i used a tin of organic green lentils some diced onion mixed frozen cauli broccoli carrots peas and red/yellow peppers. I mixed about a desert spoon of gram flour to cold water with cumin coriander ginger turmeric and black pepper with yeast extract and left it to cook in my slow cooker. I par cooked some quinoa before adding that. So it was all very easy as I prepare and freeze quite a lot of veg.

I hope this helps. 😊

Hi Hidden I’d cook them just like lentils so they’re great in soups stews and as a side veg. 😊

I think we have to take each day as it comes...

in reply to Jerry

Yes the texture looks like lentil there the same family sort of legume family I think 😁yes one day at a time is all can do but I'm one for looking ahead forward planning I have decided I'll work until end of this week as I am doing Holliday cover picking one child up autistic, luckily the taxi driver has virus anxiety and o c d on been careful like me as I am casual I don't have to work when they ask I'll see how things are end of week then may say I'll just do 2 pick ups a week on a taxi run to minimalist my risk, I wore my chemical mask and visa and antibacterial wipes washed the door handles and seat belts, all that and the girl sneezed in the taxi just as we got her home😭we were mortified and pixie is having seperation anxiety now I'm going to work even though I'm not gone long 😿 so of course pixie must come first, pixie rules the roost 😸

Hey Hidden you and your mum must do what’s best for you and remember this virus has curbed all of our lifestyles.

You all take care now and enjoy your split peas. 😊

Hello, do you use broth or tomatoes as base?

Jerry profile image

Hello Catatvet05 usually I cook onions and tomatoes and use low salt bouillon or a tin of tomatoes with the water that the veg cook in and If I have stock from cooked veg then I use that. 😊
