Whole foods plant based diet

I'm trying to lower my cholesterol and overall my diet in general... Could anyone tell me the nicest tasting plant milk for my teas and coffees? Have tried a few different ones but the plant milk doesn't mix well at all. Not sure what I am doing wrong? Use plant milk for my porridge but would also like to use for hot drinks too. Thanks for any replies

I was using alpro oat milk but after reading the ingredients I've actually gone back to organic dairy milk.

It just seems purer.

Ironically I started using oat milk thinking it would be better and maybe the one your using is?Buy I've gone back to normal milk until I find better for my heart

I find all info about heart health so confusing.. We get told so many conflicting reports about saturated fats being the blame then sugar and carbohydrates. Difficult when you are trying to do the right thing after being diagnosed with heart disease. Thanks for replying

I just looked at it

Looks good but has 19g of sugar per serving.

Agreed, Rob6868. 👍👍 . . . 19g of sugar is a lot 😯 especially if we’re following a ‘low to no’ SOS 🆘 (Salt/Sodium 🧂, Oil/Fats 🛢, & Sugar/Sweeteners 🍯 ) foods for heart ♥️ health.

. . . • If we use a splash 💦 of oat milk [less than a 1/4 cup (60mL)?], which is less than (<) 4.75 g of sugar, then we’d needn’t add any sugars/ sweetners 🍯 to our tea ☕️ , coffee ☕️ , oatmeal 🥣 , etc.? 🤔

. . . • If we use a cup (240 mL) of oat milk in our tea, coffee, oatmeal, etc, then the full 19g of sugar it is 😯 — along with the other nutrients noted:

Most people find soya milk is the best for hot drinks, if you're alright with soya.

Yes ok with soya. Thankyou

I agree I think maybe soya. I’m vegan and buy KoKo from sainsburys but I drink black tea and coffee so not sure which to recommend for you at home. When I’m out I have a cappuccino with soya which I enjoy. (it would be good to hear which one you would recommend when you find it as it would be helpful on vegan food for life 🌱)

I have soya in coffee, but changed to drinking green tea and have become very accustomed to it now after nearly 6 years and really enjoy it.

I also changed to decaf both coffee and green tea ( can be difficult to find but I like the Tetley decaf green tea).

I do treat myself to non decaf coffee but only in early or mid mornings, rest of day all decaf.

Hi Red18. I use Oat milk for porridge and coffee and tea drinks. I use soya milk for other things like cooking and even cereals but the pay milk makes the scrummiest porridge ever.😸

That's oat not pay milk. Damned predictive tex!!!

I use Alpro unsweetened almond milk. It tastes good to me, and fits with my very low carb/sugar approach. Hope you find something tasty that works for you!
