What to eat so that I can reduce cellulite?

Hey moms here,

I have given birth to three beautiful girls. The third one is 11 months old now. After her birth, I have put on weight. But during the post pregnancy treatment, I have undergone, they told me that I will not put on weight. Last day when I went to a kitty party all my friends told me that my upper arms look like the arms of a giant. From that day onwards I was doing many home remedies like Coffee Scrub, Dry Brushing, Detox Baths etc. But nothing worked out. One of my friends asked me to undergo cellulite reduction from a clinic in Toronto ( venusconcept.com/en-ca/cell...

). She told me this treatment will show an immediate effect. Is there anyone who has undergone this treatment? Will there be any side effect for this treatment?

Hi Margaratet

Lovely to hear that you have three beautiful girls! It may be that your body has not quite recovered from all the hormone changes you have been through, and this may contribute to the cellulite on your arms.

I’ve not tied the treatment you mention, but even if it works, it may not last and could need repeating. Losing weight and exercising is recommended and this article has some suggestions.

(On a personal level, I would hope that friends would be supportive rather than criticise.)

Hello margaratet748. I must say that my first reaction to your post is a feeling of disgust at your so-called 'friends'. How could they be so insensitive and spiteful? I'm sure each and every one of them is less than perfect physically. Would you deliberately embarrass them by drawing attention to what might be perceived as their flaws?

It doesn't sound as if you have a serious weight problem. As for cellulite, however much we dislike it, it's an almost inevitable part of being a woman, even for the very slim ones. I'm 68 and a grandmother now, but I can well remember feeling shocked when I noticed my first cellulite (on my thighs and upper arms) when I was about 27 and, like you, had 3 small children. At the time I weighed 7 stone 12 lb (106 lb or 48 kilos). I tried the same home treatments that you've tried and they didn't work, since they are all based on the notion that cellulite is caused by toxins in the body which isn't true. It's for you to decide of course, but I can't help feeling that the treatments you are considering would also turn out to be disappointing as well as a lot more expensive.

Cellulite can be helped by diet and exercise - see this article:

The advantage of following a regime like that is that it is also good for our general health and well-being. Everybody can benefit by drastically cutting down on sugar and white carbs and eating plenty of vegetables. It's an excellent way to get children into good habits too. Good luck and do remember that you are far more than your cellulite.
