The Health benefits of seeds 🌞

Hi everyone,

As we are being encouraged to eat more micronutrients and plant based foods seeds are being added to more and more food. So to compliment the poll here's some interesting facts about seeds and why we should include them in our diets.

I make all my own bread and add seeds so was really pleased when I found that sesame seeds are packed with calcium, so here's a link about the health benefits of seeds:

Thanks Ali, its seeing how we can add extra nutrients to our diets with things like seeds and nuts, as to me they're natural taste and nutrient enhancers...😊

Does anyone have any ideas when using milled flaxseed?

Hi Veeee, you just substitute it for plain flour for baking and you can thicken patties or gravies with it.

You can also substitute some with oats when you make porridge and that just makes the porridge smoother. And I believe that you like porridge so this would be an easy way for you to use it in a great way... 😊

And since tahini is usually served with lemon juice it makes a fabulously nutritious power food as eg hummus.
