Carbs info and advice for all :
bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b... this programme was recommended by my gp to watch. It shows the truth about carbs, what they do and how useful they can be for your body.
Yes I saw it and learned something new, that cooling and reheating rice pasta and potato increases resistance.
Yeah, I can't play it either, but there's a summary on the playback page. The cooling-and-reheating info is certainly very interesting, although it doesn't encourage me to go back to a carb-based diet simply because I feel so much better on my fat-based one.
If the rice is cooled quickly and not left too long at room temperature , it is safe to reheat.
The pasta just needs to be plunged briefly into boiling water to reheat it ,without it cooking any further. Apparently restaurants do this all the time! Or if its a complete recipe like lasagne, just reheat the whole dish in the oven.
Yes I shall start doing this too, thanks.
Thanks for the link. I saw the programme too and learnt a few new things. I will also pop the link onto the HU Weightloss forum as well, it will be helpful to many.
