Healthy Banana Bread Recipe

Diaryofanunfitmother profile image

Having just seen a post for an apricot and banana cake recipe:

2 x mashed bananas

50g dried apricots

50g seed mix

100g glacé cherries

75g jumbo oats

75g ground almonds

75g spelt flour

Vanilla essence

1 egg

Splash of milk

According to Lifesum App - if this cake has 10 slices then that's 193 Cals per slice.

Does anyone else use Lifesum? I love it in conjunction with my Apple Watch. Very satisfying...

Hi Diaryofanunfitmother ,

Thanks for working out the calories on your Lifesum App. I had also calculated the recipe, and (copying and pasting my reply to another person), I had worked it out as:

"If you cut the cake into 10 slices, then it works out at 206 calories (approx) per slice, and 172 calories per slice if you cut the cake into 12 slices. I have probably 'over-estimated' slightly, as I tend to do that when I'm calculating calories, but it's an approximation."

So I am very pleased to see your calculation works out at 193 calories per slice (for 10 slices per cake), as I was correct in my assumption that I'd slightly over-estimated.

I've not used the app you mentioned - I probably relied on Myfitnesspal at the time, but now I use Fitbit. There are lots of great apps out there, and they are very helpful.

Hope you're enjoying your week.

Zest :-)

You do not sound like an unfit mother to me! will look at Lifesum app. Interesting to me as I am on an oil free way of eating. Forks over Kmives is an interesting site you may not know about.

Thank you so much for sharing the recipe, this is one I'll be sure to make.

Thank you :)
