I am a lady of 75 years. I suffer from Diverticulitis I'm finding it very hard to work out what I should eat and what foods are bad for me. Seems like a food that is fine one day upsets me the next there doesn't seem to be a pattern!

Can anyone advice me Please?

Maybe try eating smaller and more frequent meals. Imagine it like a plumbing issue - think of a hose pipe that has weakened areas and bulges out instead of sending everything on and down. Smaller and more frequent meals which are not too fatty or stodgy will keep things moving easily - more fruit and vegetables, high fibre beans and pulses, nuts and seeds in small quantities, cut down on bread, cake, pasta and biscuits which just stodge up that hosepipe!

Thank-you Dartmoor Dumpling for your advice I also suffer from UTI's and Vertigo. (apart from that I'm fine!)

I don't know about vertigo but both the dizziness arising from low blood pressure, and kidney issues, can benefit from drinking more water and less coffee & tea. Coffee in particular can actually make you lose water as it makes you want to go more often. Try drinking more fruit teas and herbal teas or just plain water - you can get used to them and the overall "plumbing" will benefit!

Thank-you so much for your help D.D. I am now really trying to cut out Coffee and Tea too not a big coffee drinker but did like my tea even tried decaf tea but it still had me running to the Loo all the time. Haven't tried fruit or herbal yet but I will give it a go.
