My favourite fruit is raspberries and I like them with lots of toppings and other fruit. 😊

I voted Rasberries but I like all the other fruits. Although fruits are healthy as I avoid sugar I am careful to moderate them. Raspberries are quite expensive so easy to moderate but I could keep going forever with strawberries now they are in season! 🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓😂

Grapes... But allergic to most fruit due to all the pips and seeds!

I’ve voted for raspberries, but I have to say I love all the other fruits mentioned too.

I love all f them but cherries and nectarines are probably my favourites.

Hi Jerry black seedless grapes as good flavour go nice in fruit salad and high antioxidant and good for lowering cholesterol 😊

Hi Hidden ,

Great poll! My favorite fruit is blueberries, but I also like green and red grapes that are seedless. I also like raspberry and watermelon as my 3 other types of fruit(s).😀👍🫐🍇

My favourite is Victoria plums, second favourite is peaches but only if they are juicy. When you buy them from the supermarket they can be dry. 🙂

in reply to Rachmaninov2

So true I hate it when you bite the stone in middle accidently I been buying tin ones and washing syrup off 🤦😂🙋

Good idea Mandy, you can be sure they will be juicy. I think you may be able to get them in juice too. 🙂

I’m thinking about the best peach I have ever eaten. It was many years ago on a very hot summers day, I had just got off the bus and I bought it from a stall. It was warm, absolutely delicious and so juicy, the juice ran down my chin. Haven’t had one which could compare ever since. 🙂😋

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to Rachmaninov2

Have stalls become scarce? They have here in the US. The best peaches!

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to Isinatra

We’re very fortunate to have three in our high street, but I haven’t been able to buy my fruit and veg there for a while. I’m thinking about having a veg. box delivery from a small local company again, it’s more expensive but much better quality. BTW I like your new avatar Isinatra, do you mind me asking, is it Medusa? 🙂

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to Rachmaninov2

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

Yes, S. On the receipt it says a punnet of 4, but there was actually five and they were like cricket balls. Someone on here (HE) mentioned about putting them in brown paper bags so I did and it ripened them an absolute treat after just a couple of days, they were gorgeous and so juicy. xx

BTCCET profile image

I usually "acquire" a couple from the fruit and veg shop some of them starting to get them back now because of the plastic waste 👍

Rachmaninov2 profile image

springcross profile image

Rachmaninov2 in reply to springcross

I was having problems this morning, but I don’t think so now.

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to springcross

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

Mine was awfully slow for about four days, it was driving me mad - it seems OK now but the non scrolling has taken its place!!

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to springcross

I’ve always experienced when a poll is posted and I answer an alert, i have to manually scroll through all comments to the reply I’m looking for. Thought it was normal.🤔

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Isinatra

No, that isn't normal, it should automatically scroll no matter what. I don't think I've ever experienced it during a poll before but have with the alerts a few times as have many others. It it's that bad for you, email HU and they will look into it for you as it's a real nuisance and can take a while to find each post depending on how busy it's been.

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to Isinatra

Yes, I thought it was normal too. 🙂

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

You get problems during polls too then R?

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to springcross

Yes but like Isinatra, I didn’t realise it was a problem.

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

It takes a while to find each one and I can't remember it happening before on a poll!

BTCCET profile image
BTCCET in reply to Isinatra

It does always seem to happen when there's a poll don't it?

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to BTCCET

Always in a poll, Rach. When it’s a long one like this , it is irritating. I will report it if I can figure out where to go. 🤪

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to Isinatra

I’m mean B. Lol I’m dizzy from scrolling. Lol

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Isinatra

Apparently it usually happens so that's that. I am going to check some of the past polls to see what happens on them. It's a real nuisance.

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Isinatra

I've messaged Jerry to ask if this should happen during a poll (as I said, I can't remember it ever happening before but that could be my memory) as it is irritating and very time consuming. I'll let you know what he says. 😊

Edit: He's put a post up about it.

Rachmaninov2 profile image

Thank you for doing that springcross. 🙂🤞

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

👍😊

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

Unfortunately, no luck R - apparently it usually happens on the polls especially when there's lot of replies. I can't remember that but maybe HE and PWB were different in that respect or maybe I'm just plain wrong!!! 🙃🙃

in reply to springcross

Polls have always been like this from my memory and I've set quite a few polls.

Pasties? I could just go a bakery pasty right now 😋

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to BTCCET

Which one do you like? I like the cheese and onion, chicken & veg or the Levi Roots Reggae Reggae chicken. 😋😋😋

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to springcross

The only bakery pasties I’ve had were when I’ve been on holiday in Cornwall. The traditional Cornish pasties, which were wonderful. I would like cheese and onion too. 🙂👍😋

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

My mum used to make corned beef pasties and they were wonderful, makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I can make them but they aren't as good as hers were. xx

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to springcross

I hadn’t thought of corned beef pasties, very tasty. I bet her pastry was good. I love the tradition behind the pasties too. 🙂

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

Yes, she always used short crust. 😋 Greggs sell corned beef slices but they are quite salty and I also find them too oily/greasy underneath. 😊

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to springcross

I like shortcrust, we were taught half marg. half lard. I must be the only person who hasn’t shopped in Greggs. David Greig is another matter, but all gone now unfortunately. 🙂

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

That's what she used to use - always the same brands. As regards the corned beef slices, I maybe shouldn't have used the name of the shop!! 😕

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to springcross

It’s OK really, you are not gaining anything from it. 🙂

BTCCET profile image
BTCCET in reply to Rachmaninov2

Half stork and half lard with a little cow on the packet as I remember? 😁

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to BTCCET

I think the lard may have been Spry. 🙂🤔

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

My mum used to use Stork and Danelard.

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to springcross

Yes Stork, but I haven’t heard of Danelard. 🙂

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to Rachmaninov2

I haven't seen it for years so assume it's no longer available but like my mum, also used it long after we got married until all the news about butter, lard etc being bad came out.

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to springcross

Rachmaninov2 profile image

Rachmaninov2 in reply to Isinatra

Thank you for the suggestion Isinatra, many years ago there was a great community spirit but things change. 🙂

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to Rachmaninov2

That is a shame, Rach. Sometimes I think it has to do with trusting one another. People dont want to get too close anymore. BTW, a new avatar? Would those be blueberries? I’ll have to check your profile to get a closer look. Even with my specs….

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to Isinatra

Years ago we lived in a completely different kind of society, more time to chat, fewer cars so more people in the street. The chance to become friendly with the people living nearby.

Yes, I change it every day. I know, even with my specs .........too. To save you the trouble of checking they are nigella flowers, but you are right they do look like blueberries. 🙂

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to Rachmaninov2

Ok. Not blueberries, but some pretty blue flowers! From your garden?

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to Isinatra

Yes, I try to get out into the garden first thing every morning when it’s quiet, only the birds about. If it has been raining overnight the flowers look so beautiful with the raindrops on the petals. That’s when I like to take a few photos, you can be sure that there will be something new to capture. Changed avatar to show you a beautiful rose with raindrops on petals, hope you are able to see it.

Do you have a garden Isinatra? 🙂

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to Rachmaninov2

Oh, no. My property is surrounded by oak trees. Nothing grows in my yard from lack of sunlight. I would love to have even a small garden with lots of color like yours. Or some potted tomato plants. I could chase the few spots of sunlight around with my pots, but my neighbors would think me dafter. Lol

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to Isinatra

That’s a real shame, I think you would be a brilliant gardener. Did you ever consider window boxes if there was enough light? Or maybe some indoor plants if you don’t already have some. Nature and colour are so important for our wellbeing. Hope you have some parks nearby. 🙂

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to Rachmaninov2

When in the past, I had some special plants, I did ok. Looking at all the pretty pictures of blooming plants here definitely makes me wish I had some. I do have a few azalea bushes and blooming magnolia trees. So my yard isn’t a complete wasteland. But your idea of inside plants …..that’s something to think about again. I have one sunlit spot in my backyard that I’ve been eyeing for planting an avocado tree. Now that my area has increased in rain and heat over the past few years, it might just be doable.

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to Isinatra

Are your azaleas and magnolias doing well? I haven’t had a magnolia, but I know they can grow to quite a size over the years. I have two avocado trees grown from stones, I have to keep cutting them back as they are growing so fast, but I don’t expect any fruit as our climate isn’t right for them. I hope you are able to give it a go, you would probably be lucky with the fruit. 🙂👍🥑

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply to Rachmaninov2

Why am I not surprised that you have Avocado trees? With climate change there’s still a chance they could bear fruit, who knows? Like you, I was going to try to grow the avocado tree from a stone. Good to know it’s possible. Yes, the magnolias are huge. I would say one is at least 70, since it’s against my house which was built in 1943. Thinking the house was built before the tree got a foothold. The scent of the blooms are quite heady.

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply to Isinatra

Yes it’s a possibility. I would be very interested to hear how you get on if you do give it a go.
