What salad do you eat the most? Multiple ch... - Healthy Eating

Classic Greek salad but with jalapeño stuffed green olives
That sounds really good to add for a salad. How many do you add?
Usually 5 or 6 cut in half. I find it livens it up a bit. Had it with fresh oregano last week which was a nice change. Today’s was washed down with 0% alcohol red wine
Hello. Have you tried the Gordon zero alcohol gin. I am trying to find something a bit more exciting than water but doesn't contain alcohol. I have bought a non alcoholic white wine but am yet to try it.
Hi, not tried that yet. Wasn’t too sure about no/low alcohol alternatives as I like a “true” red wine or nice G&T. Just done dry January and, like you, want something that’s not just water. May try it next week
I have Advocado tomato and lettuce with prawn cocktail
Mackerel, Greek feta with olives, nuts, couscous, roasted tomatoes, green leaf salads, various pulses.
These are very healthy and a good idea for mixing certain foods together for toppings. What dressing do you use?
Almost always extra virgin olive oil (1tsp) and a few drops of vinegar). Occasionally sesame oil or chill based/Asian style. I never buy dressings, other than mayonnaise, which Imix with Fat free Greek yogurt. . I think it’s a waste of money and they go off, anyway, though I do sometimes make up a few days worth of dressing in an old mini mustard jar.
Italian ‘Tricolore Ensalata’: tomato, avocado and mozzarella dressed with balsamic vinegar and oil.
That’s a good idea for a salad. Do you have it once a week? 😀👍🌈🥗
Yes, and I’m taking note of all of the delicious salad suggestions made by others. Looking forward to experimenting in future. Thanks for the lovely post.
Greek salad without the chicken. Homemade coleslaw with lettuce & cheese
Spring onions and egg
I actually really like tuna salad. It'll sound dull to most people, but just tuna with salad leaves and some lemon juice for a dressing is absolutely delicious. I might add some cheese, onion, carrot or cucumber to it, but i'lloften just eat that on its own.
I sometimes have other types of salad too. If we're on the road and can't get anything gluten free, we usually default to a salad.
I kinda like my salads to be simple.
Love tabbouleh but unfortunately don't eat it often. I don't eat much salad during winter other than side salads. (Usually bistro, pea shoot or herb, bagged salads)
I love eating salmon and avocado salads, Mexican salad bowl & Buddha salad bowls in the summer.
Looking forward to warm weather food again soon 😍😌🥰
Mackerel, beetroot , salad leaves and balsamic 🙂
Beetroot, lettuce, cucumber, mixed peppers, celery and spring onions.
I eat salad all year- in the winter I make a warm potato and spring onion salad using the Lightest Hellman’s mayonnaise or a jacket potato with Philadelphia Lightest. I like salad leaves, red pepper and baby spinach with a balsamic vinegar and ham, chicken, turkey or beef cold meats. I also make an apple, celery, sultana and walnut salad again using Hellman’s Lightest. I always ring the changes to keep it interesting- add sweet corn and peas to the potato salad. I use chickpeas, mixed beans and add veg like coloured peppers, grated carrots and anything I have in the fridge.
Usually a mix of lots of different salad vegetables, often with avocado/beetroot/ oranges/toasted sunflower and/pumpkin seeds and a homemade dressing.
What is the homemade dressing that you use? 😀👍🌈🥗
Celery, carrots, beetroot, red and orange peppers, baby spinach with lemon sprinkle on the salad and black peppers.
Romaine, with shredded red cabbage, tomatoes and curly leaf kale add red onions and spinach Sometimes with vegan dressing or vegan mayo or often no dressing at all. Have it at least eight to ten times per week.
Whole-wheat pasta salad! I love it with chickpeas or kidney beans, grated apple or grated carrots, cherry tomatoes, sweetcorn, olives, a good spoon of olive oil, salt and pepper... Combinations are endless, so yummy 😍
Mexican salad - lettuce & other green leaves, tomatoes, spring onion, red pepper, chopped avocado, crushed tortilla chips, kidney beans (heated in a frying pan and added just before serving). I often add cucumber, radishes and olives, plus sometimes grated cheese.
I use chicken, turkey, tuna and/or cheese and/or some form of fruit (raisins, craisins, apple, etc) depending on my mood at the time. Low cal Italian dressing. I ate this every day for lunch at work for 5 years and never tired of the combinations.
Thai Mango salad
That sounds really good! I love mangoes on their own and in salads. Do you add them to fruit salads, too?
Here’s the recipe jessicagavin.com/crunchy-th...
Thank you for the recipe. Will look at it this morning before I have my lunch. Your mango Greek yogurt and slivered almonds sounds really fantastic, too. I had used cocoa flavored almonds in Greek yogurt before, but we ran out and we can't get any right now. Will have to wait for a few more months/weeks.
Cottage cheese and hard boiled egg.
Iceburge lettuce stays crisp and lasts longer
Provided it has some leaves, beetroot and tomatoes and maybe cucumber it's my sort of salad. Then add whatever is handy, cheese, bacon, fish, cold meat, hard boiled egg, potato, more or less anything. It's never really occurred to me to have a specific recipe for a salad.
My salads always have some sort of leaves,( favourite is Dolce Verde but difficult to find at the moment, I like the bagged bistro salad with beetroot from Asda or Sainsburys ) and tomatoes. Other things added depending what I fancy, peppers, cucumber, avocado, sweet corn, grated carrot, olives, grapes, celery. In the summer I’ll eat a cold salad with feta cheese, egg, salmon, tuna, pre cooked diced veggie sausage or burger, pre cooked Quorn pieces with multiple different herbs or spices and marinades depending on what I fancy. In the winter i usually have salad to accompany hot food. Dressings depend on what I’m eating it with. I use a small portion of full fat mayo, or blue cheese dressing, and I like using Nando’s lime and mango sauce as a dressing. If it’s a dish with sauce don’t need dressing.
When I make myself a salad I use lettuce, red cabbage, red onion, cucumber, apple, tomatoes and olives all chopped/sliced up and mixed together with some home made mustard vinaigrette. I usually have this kind of salad with a cheese omelette. The other kind of salad I love is celery, apple, red cabbage and red onion, mixed with tuna, grated cheddar cheese and mayonnaise with a bit of Worcestershire sauce in the tuna. I sometimes replace the cheese and tuna with prawns. It’s my standard go to lunch other than home made soups.
Both salad options sound really good for lunch or a dinner. I usually either have tuna, salmon or egg added to my salads when they're big salads.
Hi Leah another great poll, I eat lots of salad and eat beetroot onion spring onions grated carrot and I like having coleslaw with a salad sometimes. 😊🥒🍅🥪🥬
Love my salads goes with a lot of dishes. Good Survey.
Can’t eat acid things so couldn’t tick tomatoes I eat cucumber , Ramone lettuce green pepper, raddish.
We just grab whatever is in the fridge, and chop and top. Salad....usually plants, we don't add cheese or meat.
We like mix salad - bit of everything. Peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, carot, celerry and cabbage- sometimes. Whatever vegies we have at home, we make salad 😀
We always have a salad with a lunch time sarni. Made up of whatever is in the fridge lettuce , toms , cucumber, celery, olives, beetroot, radishes. Love the crunch of a salad...
