I am terrible for forgetting to drink. At the moment, I'm filling 2x 500ml bottles in the am and aiming to drink them both by about 2pm, before filling them and aiming to drink them both before bed (if I fall a little short because I'm not thirsty, that's fine). I dunno if that might help you too?

Your doing far better than I am, In the winter I tend to only drink two glasses a water a day, but in my defence I do have herbal teas as well. Thats a really good Idea with the bottles - that way its easy to keep track on how much your having

On some days, I can drink 2 & a half pints easy. Other days it seems harder.

Very impressive

in reply to Kitten-whiskers

Yes, I agree. Silly thing is, I always feel better when I do drink more water. My skin is much improved too. I simply forget as I don't get thirsty often. Got to give it a good go, though!

I must stop eating chocolates, I think I'm getting a bit addicted this is a new thing for me, I didn't really bother about them before lol ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜œโ˜น๏ธ

Is there any chance you can hide the chocolate ๐Ÿซ you already have in your home & forget about it. Failing that, if you have any solid bars or chocolate buttons, they could be put in your freezer where thereโ€™s less chance of you bringing them out . I have 3 bags of plain chocolate buttons in the freezer which have been there for many months. And Iโ€™ve resisted buying any more.

I buy one bar of 80% dark chocolate per week. I know where it is and we have it one square at a time. I also make my husband one fruit cake a week and I have to ask him to hide it from me!

Sounds like you are managing really well. Darker chocolate being better for you than milk chocolate, so Iโ€™ve read.

Less ready meals, cooking from scratch

Hi Jerry

I've gone for lower carb foods, more fruit and veg (the low fodmap diet can make this a bit of a challenge) and less sugar ie always use cacao powder in my homemade mocha, not chocolate powder.

Thank you Cooper27 for the poll.

Iโ€™m going for lower carb. foods/lower fat and reduced sugar (but not cut sugar completely). Iโ€™m hoping that this will help with the blood sugars and get them to be even all day with not too many spikes in the numbers.๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒˆ

Have you been tested for coeliac disease? It's often a good idea to be tested before you cut gluten out of the diet, as reintroducing for a test at a later date becomes unbearable for most.

my plant based diet is good but not perfect, I eat a lot of bread and rice and I know I should switch to whole-grain versions, but it's much harder to bake with whole wheat flour, and Basmati rice is so much nicer and faster to cook than brown rice...

Already LCHF and IF. Have been since February 2020.

I grow most of my own veg and soft fruit.

I have been running/jogging since August, and always drink 2.5-3 litres of water every day ๐Ÿ˜Š

I like that people are aiming to drink more water :)

I've also ticked less sugar - my intake has crept up in lockdown, and I don't want to have as much.

About 4 weeks ago, I decided and have stuck with it, for: No eating after 9 pm. No added salt on meals, And from January Iโ€™m adding, no more shop bought sweet biscuits.

Hiya. I don't do well with changing my diet. I eat very little meat, lots of veg and pulses and a few treats. Everything in moderation ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hi Jerry,Hope Iโ€™m doing this correctly!

No change as already donโ€™t eat meat and would never count calories!

Just going to try to focus on healthier snacks, difficult with a chocolate addiction but I can do it if I can find good old willpower ๐Ÿ˜€

My healthy transition is just to keep up with my healthy eating which I don't find hard as it is a part of my day to day life. But still be aware of my sugar intake as Sugar is the enemy.Great Survey, can't wait for the next one.
