I ran across an interesting article on Psychology Today this afternoon. In it, the author provides four different strategies for managing anxiety, each of which can be remembered by a unique acronym. The first strategy is known as R.A.I.N. and was originally created by Michele McDonald (though the version below is attributed to Tara Brach).

R – Recognize what is happening

A – Allow life to be just as it is

I – Investigate inner experience with kindness

N – Non-identification

You can read about the other three strategies for anxiety-management at the link below. Let us know if you use any of them yourself, or if have another strategy you prefer even more.

Hi Nate, I'm familiar with RAIN thru Tara Brach and found it profoundly helpful. It's actually based on Buddhist teachings. It does require effort and a consistent meditation practice but so worth it. Here's her website tarabrach.com/ if you scroll down a bit on her main page there is a short guided meditation called the RAIN of Self-compassion. I encourage all to give it a try.
