Insect Spotted on My Walk Today :-)

Hi everyone,

I spotted this insect on my walk today - does anyone know what it is? I'd not seen one before. About the size of a small beetle.

A member on another forum has helped me out with the name of the family of this beetle (Scarab beetle) and I've now found that it's likely to be a Cockchafer (otherwise known as May bug) - information is here:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cockc...

At least I think so! I remember seeing a May bug flying one night, and that was quite scary to hear it - it sounded very loud!

Hi Ali,

I liked his camouflage as he looked a lot like some woody bark.

Hope you enjoyed your walk Zest. I don't think I've seen one like that before either.
