We went for a nice walk to our neighbourhood parks and back home earlier on just before it started raining so we could sit down and watch Tom Cruise movies without feeling guilty over it!

We were going to have gone for a carvery lunch today but we decided not to so rang them up to cancel it so someone else can have a turn.

One thing I'm not is deliberately rude and it's just good manners to ring and cancel even if it's a lie!

At my old job I had been told off for ringing the people concerned directly to cancel a course I had been booked on due to a change of plan and I had said to the line manager how that was ridiculous to tell me off for that and how it's just basic manners to ring and cancel or change an appointment if things have changed even if it is a lie!

I got told I was to go to them first if I wanted to cancel courses! I was told off for the fact I was challenging their petty authority more than cancelling the course in itself!

Silly thing was the course was cancelled anyway as the lady who was teaching it was taken ill at the last minute!

If I had gone and not turned up without ringing to cancel then yes that would have warranted a telling off but that was just silly!

There was an incident there back in 2018 over a business techniques nvq course that myself and a widowed colleague had put our names down for and I had just come back to work after being ill with blood clots in my lungs and had decided to postpone anything that wasn't urgent for a while so I had rung up the senior training manager directly and had said to her about how I had decided I wasn't going to be training at that moment in time after I had been ill but had thanked her for taking time with me and I would be in contact in the future which was fair enough.

Then one afternoon myself and my colleague sally were taken into the office and told we couldn't do the course as it was being offered at another office and I had said no problem and how I had rung the senior manager directly and had a chat with her and had said about how I had wanted to have postponed and how she had been nice and I had received a telling off for having rung her directly and I had said well I could always have just not turned up and been rude and sally my colleague had been in tears of laughter after I had said I had rung the senior manager directly and had explained to her that I had wanted to postpone and had said to me you play them at their own game!

All that was over was just because I was challenging their petty authority by ringing the training manager to explain!

Pathetic really!

How's Teddi and Lola doing? Baby is fine and is getting her salmon this afternoon off her mum for her usual Monday treat!

Ah I think you did the right thing. Office politics ay. So glad I no longer work in an office.

Baby will be pleased its Monday then, she will love her salmon!

I bought Teddi 30 tennis balls so shes happy and lola went home yesterday after her two week holiday with me so it's all feeling a bit quiet here today.

Those managers that behaved like that should sit down and find out why they carry that petty anger around with them as one of my friends said how they are angry people in how they conduct themselves always upsetting someone.

My friends say how I have changed a lot since I left that place and feel I needed time to myself to come to terms with what happened.

Teddi is spoilt getting those tennis balls bought for her!

Yes you’re right. Glad you’re out of there as life doesn’t need to be unpleasant like that. Yes Teddi is spoilt bless her.

in reply to Agoodenough

Teddi is a canine version of our very spoilt ginger tabby baby getting all those things!

Today I was due to have an interview at 12 and was still waiting at 12.15 and no explanation so I got up and walked out of there with my head held high and went to the pub as planned a bit earlier for a pub lunch which I really enjoyed!

My friends said how that's rude to keep people waiting without an explanation like that and I was right to have walked out and gone to the pub a bit earlier than planned!

Got an interview tomorrow for 11.15 am and one on Friday at 11.45am in north Cardiff at the salvation army.

I hate that when they keep you waiting and don't apologise or explain!

Oh dear. I hope you have better luck tomorrow!

in reply to Agoodenough

Tomorrow's another day and there will be plenty of other opportunities that will come up.

It's probably for the best anyway the one today didnt work out.

Hi Ali (amended your name to the right one - apologies for calling you by the wrong name...),

That lake looks wonderful - calm and peaceful. Lovely. :-) Glad you had a nice relaxing walk, and a good start to your day!

Oops, I'm very sorry! I do know you're called Ali, and I have no idea why I put Debs, apart from I had just been thinking about Debs and her Easter eggs. lol

Haha that's a good enough reason 🙂

What a lovely photo Ali. It wasnt bad here this morning either, I met friends in our local City Centre and walked just under 10,000 steps so not bad, not anywhere near as lovely as your lovely walk.

That sounds like a fair old walk. Glad you had good weather too. Tipping down again now 🙄

in reply to Agoodenough

It was but not as beautiful as your walk for sure. Yes it's tipping down here again.

How tranquil, peace and quite - so hard to find. Looks like a beautiful spot

It is Debs. Now when I'm in places like this I always think of you and how you'd be able to name the birds and get excellent shots on your camera. When walking home a kite was hovering above me. I couldn't even see it on my phone but you would have had a great opportunity for a photo.

AgoodenoughAdministrator in reply to Kitten-whiskers

Yeah I bet. Bit cold, bit rainy, bit miserable for a bit too long now 🤨

It does seem to be dragging on now, although on a brighter note - it means I do not see the neighbours for that bit longer 😁 every cloud ............

I read a book called into the Forest I think it was and it was about walking in the woods and it said it's very good for your mental wellbeing to walk near water. I'm glad you like the photo.
