Hi everyone,

Do you know one of the things people say to me a lot is 'it's alright for you, you're lucky"

I laugh at this as I can't eat wheat oats barley or rye or tiny traces of them or drink alcohol and my body doesn't like saturated fats like palm oil, as they all make me ill.

in 2006 my kidneys flared up and this was really debilitating and it left me feeling week but once it cleared up I just bounced back and people were saying have you been on holiday you look younger and so healthy.

I walked 2 miles to work as they took our parking away and then I took up cycling to get even fitter and would cycle out of the city and into the middle of nowhere and this really helped me recover my strength. I use weights every morning and I walk a lot around the city and its often quicker than by car.

But cycling is not load bearing and I also have borderline osteopenia, thinning of the bones and cyclist are renowned for being ultra lean and going down with osteoporosis when quite young so now I want more varied exercise without having to go to a gym and want to take up hiking and rowing think rowing is a wonderful exercise.

Here's a photo of one of my favourite places that I go on my bike and yes that's a thermos so I can have a nice cup of tea in the middle of nowhere and watch the buzzards and wildlife theres a family of woodpeckers living nearby too. This is also on the junction of one of the tramway paths and there's a bridal way that I've just turned off. So its perfect for walkers.

The secret is gently gently and one step at a time and you can achieve your goals.

And I agree when others say I'm lucky as life is what we make it...😊
