reading from Bessell Kolk books on truama, I learnt about sensorimotor psychotherapy.

I like to keep an open mind, the beginners mind to new experiences, that said positive feedback from others helps my confidence.

Could anyone share their positive experience of this therapy.

bowJim:

This is a great post and I'm looking forward to the responses.

I watched a short video on this form of therapy. It sounds quite similar to a therapy I have been in for years called IFS.

I do believe recognizing my parts from an internal aspect has added to my talk therapy. The clip I saw referred to this as " phase two " trauma work.

In IfS I took what I had learned about my trauma base and began to dissect my emotional parts. Example... if I had a rough day at work and felt like an episode triggered me I would take it to my IFS therapist. She would ask where I felt it in my body, what did it look and feel like, thinking back on my life when is my first memory of this feeling. Talking it though brought great relief to my entire body and mind.

I have done this work for so long that I am now using it as a tool. On my own I can sit and reflect about a situation, look internally for my answers and find peace.

That's my experience. My therapy falls under a different name but I think the base is the same. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just speaking about one 1/2 hour clip. I'm sure your research has been more in depth.

Thank you, I will have a look at IFS, nice to hear you experience, loved it when you can adopt a tool for ease, peace and freedom🧡 pure harmony with the mind! I feel excited to learn more.

Freedom and peace we all deserve it but have to work hard for it.

Never give up bowJim. You deserve inner peace
