Fighting for what you need in treatment

This is just a statement....not a question. As many of you know, I have fought long and hard to get a daily benzo. it was only after pleading with my physician and convincing him that they are the only things that let me enjoy life, he reluctantly agreed. Though I am always seeking alternative treatments....thus my recent post on medicinal marijuana....Ativan is the answer for now. I am 63 with a life altering autoimmune disease and my doctor knows this. I feel pretty good most days and that is all that matters.

I do have a great fear that some day some younger doctor is going to try to get me off of the Ativan as my psych said his colleagues generally do not prescribe this drug willingly. He is older and nearing retirement.

I will cross that bridge when I get to it....until then I am living life.

I'm obviously not sure where you live but I live in the U.S. and in my state I work with a psychiatric nurse practitioner who prescribes my medication. It's an option for another route for medication.
