Hi I noticed you were following me. I have severe ptsd I’m not doing well right now due to several Setbacks mental & physical. It’s always best to put yourself first and take time you need. See yourself as your own bestie & safe circles of love friendship. Distracting. I find night terrors happen when over taxed and feelings of loss fear. It can be very hard to recover from you get tired. I tell myself it was just my mind trying to sort things out because it is. I think it’s not our job to suffer but to relearn love and safety. And to pay attention to constant consistency of that in our lives. And build on that. When going through tough stuff concentrating on that and mundane things & work or school or making dinner. Sometimes starting from scratch again but letting go and control only what we are able too. I hope you’re feeling good around your circle of trust & your day is going well

like you mentioned i have gone through a lot in life i have been this way since 5 years old . also reaching the 40 year old mark next month kind of dreading it . i assume you maybe older than i am any advice on the turning 40 thing

in reply to drawingmusicman79

I am a few years older. I can say that turning 40 was just a number to me. Some people dread it but I felt that dread more turning 50. That’s 10 years away from you. I had some of my funnest times in my 40’s I was also still full of energy and I traveled. I knew myself well I didn’t question the world so much as I had lived enough. You find later in your 40’s you can get injured more easily you can still do a lot but high impact exercise weightlifting you have to scale back a bit but early 40’s it’s all gravy lol. You learn as you turn older that you still feel young inside. I was optimistic turning 40 and so should you be. Go start doing stuff you always wanted to do work for it and enjoy the crap out of it !! 😜

Hi drawingmusicman79,

Welcome to the community.

It seems like you have been dealing with it for a very long time.

We have a specific subject for C-PTSD - you can have a look at our topics list underneath the next posts, related posts and pinned posts, when you scroll the way down, you see a list called "Interests".

The best way to find a full list is to go to Posts tab in the community page which is the second one from the left.

There are many different ways of coping with your PTSD on a daily basis. It's not one size fits all so you might need to try different things to find what best helps you in your unique situation and the symptoms that are the worst.

Have you tried any kind of therapy?

You can find a community from the list of all communities:

healthunlocked.com/communities

Alternatively you can click on the icon 'My Hub' which is the second one from the left, then you can see all the communities you currently follow, and then there is an option "find a community".

Please put your search criteria to see the results.

Even if you are on meds it is still a daily fight. I try to surround myself with positivity. I try to stay in a good mood and I try to keep my self busy. I also have hobbies that I try to use to keep my mind in a healthy positive state. It doesn’t always work but it does help.
