I am new to this group, and suffer terribly from complex PTSD, amongst other issues, I was particularly interested in this sites Founder, Michael Rosenthal's healing protocols, and certainly anyone else here who is progressing through this very difficult disorder.

Most everyone I know of that say they have been healed (particularly if the ptsd was from abuse) are self employed and don't work in the normal workplace.

Progressing through it and getting better, some of us have done that with ups and downs.

For me it's not masking the pain.  Working through every corner and cranny.  When I get back into the habit of compartmentalizing and dissociating, I eventually get hit with a tidal wave.

True Ihawk, some people who have gotten some healing work from home - but for me, that's a far cry from the days when I was "virtually unemployable." I think with C-PTSD, especially from long term abuse, it's more realistic to talk about relative rather than absolute healing.

You're right - it's a slow process, with lots of ups and downs, and facing the pain.

We had an interesting discussion about the topic a while back:

Hi Firefly,

Welcome to the group. C-PTSD is really tough to deal with. I have it too. I have been using a number of different tools, and progress is slow, but steady. My world looks much better than it did even 5 years ago.

Here's an interesting discussion about how much healing is possible. A lot of people weighed in, and gave some interesting perspectives:
