Hello,

I am new to the site and am just looking for support and advice. I am always crying and feel I cannot do anything right. I am tired of being a victim and am in therapy to find solutions on being victorious. I am just wondering if there are things I can do to build my confidence and self-esteem? And, specifically to heal from my PTSD?

You're in the right place for support. I have found being around people who "get it" to be tremendously helpful in the healing process. We are all in this together, what works for some may way work for you and the opposite true too. Keep trying and try again. There is hope in the search for a better life. I'm glad you are here.

Hi there.

I have gone through a couple of period where my life was like this. Friends and a top class counsellor have put me on the path forward.

I debate whether I have PTSD or do I just suffer from depression, was it in me from birth or did something trigger it. Regardless, happiness is something that only we can provide for ourselves.

I agree with runnerguy33 you are in the right place here and would love to hear more from you. You are among friends here.

cellopure1. I want to offer advice but I don't know much about you especially your age and what caused your PTSD. Also my therapist told me to call it PTS because the fact that we have a normal reaction to horrible experience isn't really a disorder. Good luck here and glad you found us.

Thank you. It is EXTREMELY hard at times, but I will focus on the positive and therapy.

Is it okay to get in depth on this community board? I can tell you I am 33 years old, my physical health is declining. I have trauma stemming from childhood and although I am not a mental health practitioner, I am pretty sure I am in trauma now. I am slowly trying to take the steps to get out of it to heal, but it is very hard. I cry most of the time, but still try to do positive things to keep my mind, body, and spirit in a positive realm.

My mind constantly goes back and forth in giving up, to thinking that there is a better life for me and a better way to feel.

I see so many great ideas here. Just wanted to say hang in there all feelings do change and shift.

I find things come in waves. Right now I am feeling low. I just dropped my son back to his mother's house, asked can I see him tomorrow, was told no and I now feel very alone, isolated and hurt.

There are things I do when this hits - watch things I like on TV, write, meet friends. I keep alcohol intake low and exercise a lot.

Your PTSD sounds tough. I am learning in therapy that mine didn't start in 2009, it began in childhood and something happened in 2009 that just triggered things.

I do feel like I finally understand things like why I am lonely a lot and why I feel low self esteem. Unfortunately though I have been sub consciously hiding the real me for years. It's like I have been scared that people will see a horrible person underneath when I really am not like that at all. The horrible me that I thought people would see comes from a defence mechanism from childhood.

I hope these words help. Life is short and our emotions can be painful.

If you are still in a trauma situation you can look up domestic abuse numbers on your computer and in your area. They can help you and mayge find a place for you to stay.
