so,got up this morning(well sort of rolled out of bed!)with a plan.had my several coffees, took mr socks out, game on...plan "A",utube instructions for fixing mower cable.very informative i could do that.however, the part i needed not available in the small village where i live.some would say at this point, and some did,why not go and get what you need from town?what you all need to understand peeps is i am a cowboy, think like one, already wearing me poncho/stetson,nothing can stop me..

plan"B";i could try and "fix"the broken wires?hour later and nice cut on thumb(stanley knife)insulation tape wot not,we ready to plug in...bingo!!!off we go,yee haa!!for about 5 sq metres....

plan "C";last chance saloon..i been good,i been bad, time to get ugly.took a plug off a toaster and chopped the offending wires,of course it works.not safe not clever,i know, but i won the "shoot out".on plus side,my neighbours think watching me is better than daytime tv someone gave me a bag of liquirice allsorts win win.

we moving on with the other issues i think..sean will be going to new unit maybe sometime at weekend, got a stay of execution(week) from universal credit whoop!i may be a cowboy but not daft,i have everything written down..and, lets face it,i am the quickest draw since wyatt earp...t.b.c...

Dear Dogsabighelp,

Firstly.... How 'good' to hear from you babe, even IF your 'electrical skills' are a bit Dubious!

Jokes apart, how are you, my friend? Well I hope. I'm still in my Supported Living Flat, over five- and a half- years now, so I'm fairly well Established.

We had a small 'get together', in our garden, on Tuesday- just an in promtu 'thing', organised by Leanne- a down stairs neighbour. I was asked to get 'Drinks', so I bought Capri Sun from the shop. Our new Manager, a lovely lady- especially compared to the last Manager!- brought along her young son (he is around two and a half). Leanne let her two Dogs 'out', after an hour, or so, which was nice ('Nice', oh God Andrew.....). In all a Good Time, was had by all.

I must close now, once again, great to 'hear' from you.

Hey D, if Sean's new place would allow Socks to visit it could be so beneficial. The management must surely be aware of the therapeutic value of animals for anyone in a care situation. And for Sean, seeing his own beloved pet could be a massive boost.

Just me thinking aloud... but I really think you should look into it. The practicalities could be tricky -- unless you know someone who'd be happy to accompany you and maybe take Socks off for a walk if he gets fidgety ? 🤔 Xx

Hi D, all sounds promising for Sean, but please leave the electricity to the know how’s it’s a killer, and your Sean needs you. If Sean’s new place has a garden maybe you could take socks into the garden, is Sean able to use a wheelchair so they could meet up in the garden. The homes I’ve worked in allowed pets in , they are great beneficial stimuli for residents, I would speak to the staff you usually find they will do their hardest to make it happen, wishing you lots of luck and love ps when Karen left the army we had artificial grass put down, it was easier with her injuries, it has been a godsend just give a good sweep and pull the odd cheeky weed out, just an idea D love Alice xx

Hi D, your post made me smile - where there’s a will there’s a way - although maybe not the safest option!

I hope Sean’s move goes ahead this weekend or soon after and it all goes well. You will have a lot of emotional turmoil as this next stage in Sean’s life begins - it’s what’s needed but doesn’t make it an easy thing to accept.

Re Socks being able to visit hopefully this can be arranged as I am sure it will lift Sean’s spirits. In Hawthornes they have a lovely ‘therapy dog’ called Chester who was donated by one of the residents mothers. Chester brings many a smile to residents and visitors and is thoroughly spoilt!

Take care D. Nanapal x
