I just saw a post saying that the DWP have lost a PIP form, which doesn’t surprise me as a letter from some PIP assessment company turned up yesterday.
The claim form was filled in by the other half’s team on the unit, OT, Physio, SLT l, Social Worker and Neurologist, so it would have been worded much better than had I done it.
The letter stated, that after looking at her claim they require her to have a face to face meeting next Thursday at Haverhill. That may only be half hour from where we live, but at the moment she’s 60 miles away in Homerton.
What really makes me angry is that this someone who’s had the right and front of her brain damaged and the temporal lobe damaged leaving her with very poor left side mobility and shocking short term memory loss and the inability to plan new tasks........what do they think the form said? What do they think a face to face meeting will achieve? Do they think they’re going to get a coherent conversation? Do they think that the form is full of lies?
I’ve filled these forms out for people with a mild learning disability and only one of them as ever had to have a face to face meeting.
Fortunately I was able to email it to the units social worker who’s told this bunch of cowboys that if they want a pointless face to face meeting then they will have to travel to Homerton for it.
If I wasn’t crying I’d be laughing at the stupidity of the whole situation
