Hi everyone,

I would love some help please - does anyone with a mild or moderate TBI live in north Derbyshire or South Yorkshire?

It may help if you know someone at least close as they may know someone in the area.

Thank you so much!

Hi,

thank you so much for getting back to me!

A friend of mine is a PhD student and is looking for volunteers who are between 18 and 70 years old and have sustained a mild or moderate TBI in the last two years. These criteria are very specific.

The study is nutrition based. People need to be living close to South Yorkshire or North Derbyshire to be able to participate. Clowne is a perfect location.

The results of this study could potentially lead to improving brain injury recovery likelihood, reducing symptoms and reducing longevity of TBI. The study is very important for future immediate management of TBI and could vastly reduce the number of people struggling for many years.

Because of other similar studies that I am aware of, in my opinion this study could actually help people get their lives back.

If your wife fits the criteria would you be happy for me to pass her details on?

Thank you so much.

I'm in Chesterfield x

Hi Annie

I took part in a similar study a few years ago. I don't fit the required criteria I'm afraid as it's 4 yrs since I had my stroke.

Regards

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

Thank you so much for responding. How did you get on in the previous study? Was it helpful to you?

We will be releasing a new website in the next week or two, which not only shares a lot of very useful information, but will also have a data capture facility for people who are interested in joining studies. I will let you have the url as soon as the site goes live.

Thank you again, best wishes, Anne

Hi Annie, more than happy to be involved in anything that can be beneficial to BI. Mine was a heavy one 5yes ago in France, half my skull is titanium, and I was placed in a cone for a bit, but no big deal. I’m here if I can be of any assistance at all👍🏻x

Thank you so much. We will be preparing many studies over the next few months and knowing people who are happy to help is tremendously important - we can't find anything out without people like you who are willing to share their experiences to help bring change for others - and in many cases the things we will be studying will be of tremendous value to long-term survivors. I will certainly get back to you, if that is okay, when we have studies that include people who sustained their injury more than two years ago.

We will be releasing a new website in the next week or two and this will have a facility for people to register their interest in helping with upcoming studies. I will post the link here as soon as we release the site.

Thank you so much again and I hope that you are doing well. Annie

Hi AnnieMy daughter had an ABI not TBI but still a severe brain entity due to hypoxia. We live in Belper and would love to join any research that can improve her life. Even though this was a severe injury which has left her with severe cognitive impairment and prosopagnosia, she currently has no support from Neuropsychologist or any other support for that matter. So we would welcome any support available! Thanks

Hi,

Thank you so much for getting in touch. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter.

When did she sustain the ABI? I am aware that ABI from hypoxia can leave very severe outcomes which are often more difficult time-wise to overcome. Do you know why she isn't getting any help? If you would like to email me with more details (privacy) or are happy to do so here I many have some suggestions / contacts depending on the further information. Email is anneericketts@aol.com

Whilst your daughter doesn't match the criteria for this study I am aware of another study that is in the works which she could possibly participate in.

We will be releasing a new website in the next week or two, which not only shares a lot of information, but will also have a data capture facility for people who are interested in joining studies. I will let you have the url as soon as the site goes live.

Thank you so much again. Best wishes, Anne
