We had a review meeting with the clinical staff as kev has been at the rehabilitation centre for 3 weeks now. They are concerned about his memory as there is nothing at all and they feel that he should be improving (even a little bit). I have talked through his aggression towards me which has now escalated to a point I haven’t been visiting as much and his total disorientation.

When he left the normal hospital they found 2 areas of new blood on a CT scan but didn’t appear worried about it (err this is his brain bleeding!????) but said he would go back in 2 weeks for another scan to check that it was stable - of course the rehab centre knew nothing about this but are now investigating as this could be contributing to his current behaviour issues!!

The battle goes on......

Hugs to you , it’s an awful time for you 😥

I think it's not unusual to 'watch & wait' with small bleeds as they often heal without intervention, which can do more harm then good. On a positive note this might account for Kev's slow progress and could offer some hope, in the longer term at least ?

In the meantime concentrate on your own wellbeing as much as possible ; I know it'll be hard for you when you're feeling so adrift........... Love & hugs, Cat xx

That’s reassuring Cat, I just wish they would tell me stuff like that so I don’t go out my head with worry!!! I definitely think it’s hindering him but I guess time will tell! I am just wrecked by it all and the constant fight for information and set backs!! Tomorrow is a different day and i just take each day as it comes xx

i caused my wife to have a complete melt down, she wouldnt show it in front of me, but one day she went to work and my mood swings and aggresssion ( never violent no no no ) towards her was more than she could take, she was sent home.

she told me straight she couldnt take any more, she was coming home from work wondering if id floored somebody for doing something like whistling, she dragged me off to a stroke day centre, they wouldnt take me, but said there maybe a place in sept. never heard from them.

she got an emergency appointment with the gp that evening, who wanted to put me on anti depressants, i told him i wasnt depressed and told him where and how far he could stuff them.

i worked 20 odd years in care so i knew my meds, so eventually we agreed on my meds and a trial dose, and he referred me to a psychiatrist who i still see today.

my wife and i are happy, i still have my outbursts but thats with strangers, dont like them.

good luck,
