Has anyone any experience of having to be awake for surgery?

I ask because a younger member of the extended family has such surgery on Monday for a tumour.

It was only discovered 3 to 4 weeks ago and is impacting their speech.

The post surgery biopsy will determine what happens next.

That's all the info I have at the moment.

Thanks

Yes :( I'll send a pm - it's not for the faint hearted

Thanks Elenor.

Yes it is a brain tumour.

The only image I have in my head and can't shake is Eddie Murphy operating on the tiger in the remake of Dr Dolittle.
