Thanks, always interesting to find something different to drink other than the usual cola and other drinks

Singha or Chang Beer are bottled favourites, draft has to be 1664 and a nice whiskey [in proper measures] suits me.

I don't smoke, sleep in a single bed in another room, totally lonely and that is my one pleasure. I rarely drink at home

What do I get .... stop drinking. Your speech is slurred ..... not on two pints it isn't.

Sounds good, I don't drink the desire to drink has gone didn't enjoy the effects of boozy cake while back.

The problem I always have with alcohol free drinks is I expect to taste alcohol most pubs can do if not a good at least a drinkable coffee etc rather than coke which is so sweet etc.

Please can someone give m an opinion on all this? I take it from what I read here and elsewhere that some people with brain injury feel the effects of alcohol in a different way to pre-injury. It sounds as if the effects are much greater with a smaller amount of alcohol. My husband has never had any advice about this as the other injuries he has were so much worse that the brain injury but I notice when he drinks it is as if he has had so much more than he has had!!!!!!!!!!! he doesn't believe me. Can anyone help or advise please? I worry it is doing long-term damage.

My hubby is on Kepra witch effects the liver,he Isnot eplatic but had one seizuire, plus i thimk its B.I thing your tolerance goes down, the effects depend upon the person.hubby has two pint limit. So the booze free are good. I agree when out it is hard to find an alternurntive other than coke or J.20.I f you want advice ask your nuro doctor. x

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a go. I am only risking one pint of beer or one medium glass of wine per evening (not every day anyway) because of the higher risk of seizures.

Cheers! ☺

I find Becks Blue is a good Alc free lager, also erdinger alcohol free wheat beer is worth a try.

Razy, that name just cracked me up - 'Nanny State' lol : ))

Thanks for the info. My partner likes a drink but only manages 2 pints before effects kick in big time since his stroke. His usual slurring gets even slurrier and it puts him to sleep ! I'm an occasional Snowball fan. I used to like a Malibu and coke now and again but haven't fancied it at all for years - odd how our tastes change with BI. Hope you are both doing okay : ) Angela x
