Hi Matt, The giraffe is my favourite animal. Recently we went to the wildlife park in Yorkshire. We, (my family and I ) live in Doncaster and the Yorkshire Wildlie Park is on the doorstep. It is a great day out and I can't wait to go back, which will be our 3rd visit The giraffes took my breath away, I have never seen them up close and personal, so seeing them took my breath away.

Matt, how much would you like for your drawing, what size is it., for frame. And is it on paper and black and white

Take care MJ

Hi Cindy,

I like giraffes, giraffes remind me of cows. I like cows too :).

I sell original drawings for £20 and prints for £10 at the moment. Some have said that is fairly cheap but maybe when my name is more known, I might, and should, think about raising the price.

It will be on A4 size paper and a frame can be included in the price if you would like a frame.

And yes it is on paper and drawn in black and white. Graphite pencils is what I normally use.

You sound as if you are interested :).

Take care,

MJ

Ok been puzzling this one for ages " giraffes remind me of cows." Do cows in England get more steroids these days :-) ?

Matt2584 profile image
Matt2584 in reply to sospan

:). No what I meant by that was probably because of the way giraffes chew their food, it's like a cow. And it's also like a camal.

Thinking about it more, I think it is a herbivore thing. Grass eaters/leaf eaters seem to chew in a similar way.

I think it is because of the shape of their teeth and also texture of what they eat. I know a bit about that from reading dinosaur magazines when I was younger.

In the film Jurassic Park, the brachiosaurus chews like a cow as well. I know that's not a real dinosaur in the film but they could have been pretty close :).

It's ok, I was pulling you leg a little bit.

giraffes are one of those huge throw backs to the dinosaur age. When you look at them it is a puzzle how they survive

My daughter's favourite animal since one at Chester zoo lowered it's head wa-a-a-y down and pinched the ice cream out of her hand !

After that a large bendy toy giraffe went with her everywhere.

Lovely drawing MJ !! xx

Thanks Cat and I like the story of the thieving giraffe :). Who would have thought they liked ice cream :).

I know. The whole crowd was in bits & I thought my child would be really shocked & upset, but she just stood in a trance with an enormous grin on her face. x

Beautiful, Matt : )

I once had a cow beg for my ice cream - I wasn't sure if this was a good thing to be giving it but saved it the cone with a little in ! It chewed it quite happily in that strange herbivore way ! Rabbits are another example of herbivore chewing - rolling it from side to side in a grinding action but rather quicker than larger animals, it makes for wonderfully cute movements in their chops ! Something oddly peaceful and hypnotic about watching a herbivore chew : ) x

Thanks Angela :).

I can imagine a cow begging for your ice cream. Was it on it's hoofs and knees? :).

I like how the conversation has turned into this fad about herbivore chewing haha.

Goodnes, that is truly outstanding. You're obviously very skilled and artistic. Thank you for sharing - it's beautiful :)

Aww thank you very much Elanor :).

I'm glad you artistic and not autistic :).

I have always had the eye for art and used to draw when I was little but it is who I know now that has made a difference in my drawings.

If she were to draw the same drawing, hers would look a lot better. But then again, I have a brain injury, she doesn't :).

Yes I know I thought it looked like a rocket first, then thought it resembles ET also, just my way of sending messages across the water :-)
