Hi all, seems a contradiction or a strange heading at least. Let me explain.

Been out with my wife , my middle daughter and geand kids to see a joysting/medival event today. Yep in the rain I know mad but hey why not. Feared it would not take place at first but with rain coats on we set off.

Well got soaked but really enjoyed it , even the picnic in the rain. If anybody else was at bolsover castle today we were the ones having a picnic whilst holding umberellas

Had a few strange looks but nothing out of the ordinary really.

Oh and the jousting went ahead and eben retirned home with a couple of little knights.

Trouble is I feel terrible. I ache everwhere and have a hum dinger of a heafache.

Was it worth it......you bet it was .

A very damp and aching Pax x

Hi razy

yep it was great. They improvised the programme all day but managed a good show. My two grand daughters ( yep GRAND DAUGHTERS) loved the knights and archers, along with all the mock battles.

You all do a great job/hobby. Will have to take them to see a civil war enactment.

And where did this medieval event take place Pax ? Dear oh dear you might well suffer tomorrow, but just keep the painkillers flowing 'til everything's back to normal.

I'm happy for you though ; we really owe it to ourselves to have fun times now & again despite the inevitable 'payback'. Hope you'll be fully mended before too long !! xxx

Hi Cat.

It was at Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire. Great place just for a normal visit but the jousting is great fun. Think its only on at bank holidays but worth a visit.

Love visiting old ruins....bit like looking in the mirror for me ha ha.... Seriously if you like statley homes and castles this one is worth a visit if you are in the area.

My son regularly used to visit Riber Castle at Matlock but for me (pre bi) it was always the hills that attracted me to the Peak district. We've climbed many of them, in all weathers. My friend even had her marriage ceremony in a farmer's field in Matlock ; a grand affair where she arrived at the altar on a white stallion !

I just love those hills (and the Yorks ones). I'm hoping to venture up there again one day............... a little more tentatively though. ;-) x

Love the peak district. Trying to get back up Kinder Scout but not having much luck at moment. Still do short walks when I can but watch this space for a view from Kinder ....one day I promise.

Always used to be a big 'Camelot' fan, myself - the kids loved it there : )
