Hi Nicky, is it a special bed - if not - are you not able to take advantage of the bed manufacturers offers they always seem to advertise on TV?

If yes, perhaps the neurology department would help out with a letter that would emphasise Liam's special needs? I hope you can get matters sorted. Shirley. x

Hi Shirley yeah it's a specialist bed. The one he gas isn't really suitable as he's a very tall lad (6'1) the local council have finally agreed to fund the purchase but I had to find the suitable bed. Why they don't stock them in the O.T department of the council is beyond me. Liam can't b the only patient who's had this problem.... It mayb I'm the only parent who won't just accept what am given xxx

Hello, you don't give too much away with your question. When you say "special bed", I wonder what you mean. Further exploration of your query, tells me that he's a very tall lad, 6'1". I'm 6'6" and have never had a special bed, although I must be able to hang my feet over the end of the mattress.

Hi Phil, the bed he needs has an extention on it for length and also where it break for him to sit only gives him 78 inches which is not doing jus trunkal posture any good. Apparently this us standard size for a medical home bed. So we have had to get him a bed exactly the sane as he has in hospital which ei give him 85" for his upright sitting position but then we had the worry wills the airflow mattress fit the new base. To he honest it's been a nightmare from start to finish. But thankfully yesterday a found the correct one for him

My brother got a bed from the local OT people, it's the same beds as they use in the hospital, think it is a profile bed? He has a special mattress for stopping bedsores which is waterproof for his dbl incont. Issues.

He doesn't have the height issues tho!

You can get most things from the OT catalogue, but we always look out for bargains from Aldi!
