neuropsychologist assessment.

Hi

In summary, I had my last benign brain tumour removed in 2006. I currently reside in North West London and am looking to have a neuropsychologist assessment. I was wondering if anybody could recommend anybody around my area or in London?

Thanks

Hi brighton88, thanks for the very quick response. I havent asked my consultant neurosurgeon as forgot to ask him at my last appointment. I may have to email him if I have no luck but am hoping that I do not have to.

Cheers

call the hospital and ask to speak to his/her secretary then ask her, I've found secretary's can be a life line and great source of information

I had an assessment arranged by an insurance company at Re:Cognition whom are just off Oxford street. No idea how much it cost by they were really thorough. In a day, I saw a Neurologist, Neuropyschologist and a Psychologist and to cap it all an MRI from their own machine in the basement

Thanks sospan, i have briefly looked at their website and am going to speak with them regarding the cost.

I had my neuropsych assessment at the National in Queens Square and they were brilliant.

I have had all my brain surgeries at Queens Square and was going to ring my neurosurgeons secretary now to see if i could get a refferal. I did see a neuropsych in rehab there in 2006 but feel like i need an assessment as my condition seems to be deteriorating. Thank you.

My daughter is under neuro's in Sheffield. I contacted her neuro who arranged for her to have this assessment.

Good luck with this and I hope you get it done via NHS as my daughter did.

Good I hope you do crudock. My daughters was done over 2 hour assessments instead of hourly ones as we had to travel a fair distance to get to the hospital. It made interesting reading and it was also picked up that she was 'scanning' the papers. A field vision test was suggested which we had done and found she was partially sighted, it also showed she had 'slowing of her 'motor processing speeds' (or something like that. This explained an awful lot and gave me understanding why I needed to keep repeating myself, sometimes saying things differently for her to understand. Hope yours brings some questions answered as well.
