I have some symptoms returning and having tried to understand what is different that I am ingesting, I am now questioning my change in toothpaste, is this possible?. Does anyone else believe that toothpaste has brought on symptoms?

Yes a number of mainstream toothpastes may contain starch or modified starch derived from wheat and sometimes labelling is not shall we say 100%.

Holland and Barrett sell a range of gluten free toothpastes called Kingfisher.

I found it made a difference as I am very sensitive and could not work out why I kept getting reactions.

I use Kingfisher as well and you can buy it in Waitrose and some Tesco shops as well as health food shops.

The official line is that all toothpastes in the UK are gluten free. However, toothpastes often contain strong flavourings and other ingredients that can irritate the mouth i.e. recently I used Aquafresh after using a natural Bicarb of soda toothpaste for ages. Suddenly I had a few tiny ulcers on my tongue from using the Aquafresh which had a much stronger minty flavour than my normal brand. That doesn't mean I was 'glutened' it simply means that toothpaste didn't agree with me.
