Dont know of any formal research.

But there are many instances of "failure" of contraceptive pills when woman has sickness etc...or has had anitbiotics. There is a warning in the leaflet...about extra precautions etc...

Would have thought that any dose critical medicine..thyroxine and diabetes meds included ..would be effected by the sickness and Big D.

Hope things are good for you...

I have come across research into doses of thyroxine for patents with coeliac disease - they need higher doses to compensate for the lack of absorption. Here's one I found just now:

The one I saw before suggesting checking for coeliac disease in patients that need very high doses of thyroxine.

I take thyroxine and whenever I've been gluttened or have a stomach bug I have found that I take longer to recover. I tend to be very lethargic and tired for a couple more days than most people are. I also find I get some of my neurological problem start to show up which disappear when my thyroxine is up at it's optimum level.
