How long for NHS biopsy results?

Hi thereSaw gastro after suffering from unexplained vitamin deficiencies (folate, ferritin/iron, borderline B12 and D) and despite having clear coeliac blood tests he wanted to rule it out. I had a gastroscopy with biopsies Sunday 29th Jan so 4 weeks ago tomorrow. Any idea how long NHS biopsies are taking at the moment? Thanks ☺️

Hello Clare, my biopsy results took 5 weeks to come back positive 11 years ago. Hope you hear soon. All the best, Liz.

Thanks Liz. I'm guessing it could be longer then with all the post covid catching up. It's a diagnosis I could well do without however would explain a few things. Definitely impatient to get the definitive answer. Hope you're doing well now? 😊

Yes thank you a lot better. It took a while though. Probably had celiac for about 20 years or more looking back but had assumed the gastro issues were medication side effects! Had the endoscopy and biopsies as they thought I had a stomach bleed with rock bottom haemoglobin and two types of anaemia.

I've got minimal gasto symptoms so wasn't on my radar really, but reading into it I understand that's not all that unusual. We'll see. Meanwhile I have to admit to enjoying wheat with abandon 😬😆
