Sudden pain

I suddenly and slowly started getting pain in my shoulders going downwards and then down my legs. Out is the blue. Worsening. Feeling like the pain I have after accidentally having gluten. But I’m just not sure if it is the case because I can’t think of anything at all I’ve had contacting gluten today. All I can think of is the toffees I’ve been having for the past several days. But I very much doubt that can b the case. I’ve slept but woken up still with the pain. Anybody understand where u just can’t think of what Uve eaten?

Could be muscular situation or pulled nerve rather than coeliac. Have you being doing anything strenous? What brand of toffees?

I’ve not been doing anything different to usual any the toffees are just the Waitrose brand.if I usually get glutened I get the other symptoms too but this time it’s just this pain. That’s I’m really confused. Thanks for your reply MorganSpice

I've had a little look online. The only Waitrose toffees I can see contain wheat glucose. Not sure it that is an issue if you are coeliac. It's not on 'Bold' so maybe that means it's safe.

Like others said, get checked out by gp. 👍Re toffees, Wheat glucose syrup not suitable for wheat allergic, as still can contain residue of wheat and or gluten - probably below coeliac ‘allowed’ 20 parts per million but depends on individual sensitivity. There is not one size fits all gluten free diet. Have to figure your individual threshold of tolerance. Or it could be something else entirely - something else sensitive to like the emulsifiers not good for gut health. 🧐

Could it be gall stones? Worth visiting GP, or trying 4 or 5 days fat free diet - if it goes then, and comes back you reintroduce fats then see your GP. Toffees are quite high in fat, they are basically butter and sugar.

Sounds like something else is going on. If still in pain, contact your GP or 111. Without being alarmist, many things like heart issues, etc, involve shoulder pain.

Get checked out. There are other auto immune conditions that can cause that type of pain. Polymyalgia Rheumatica is one. I have it too and it is usually a sudden onset with pain in large joints that refers to the muscles of arms, shoulders and legs. But that is just one option.
