Sudden bad pain in my right hand, wrist and fingers with previous red painful rash on the same arm.

Good afternoon

I haven't been putting all my dots together. I say this because about 7 weeks ago I developed a really painful itching red rash on my right arm. Gp gave me steroid cream but its still very itchy. Moving on now until yesterday. Out of the blue my right hand started to hurt badly and for no reason at all. I thought I'd leave it until today to call my gp just incase it got better but It hasn't.

Anyway I've been working with my gp regards blood tests for gluten intolerance but the tests keep coming back negative. I've got a multitude of symptoms and since having gluten back into my diet my body is simply shattered, drained, painful and exhausted. I'm having another blood test tomorrow morning and I've sent off a hair strand test privately, Im grasping at straws I know.

I know I cant diagnose myself etc but I've been putting 2 and 2 together and think I;ve come up with 4. Is it lightly that my poor body just cant take anymore gluten or another protein that's its screaming out at me for help (to stop gluten) and has given me Dermatitis Herpefortimus as my arm looks just like it and weeps a clear fluid and itches like mad. The only thing is that its only on one arm its not symmetrical. And that now my poor hand wrist and fingers is in pain due to a foreign protein.

I know about stopping and starting gluten as done it before. Im eating lots of gluten at the moment esp as I've got my test tomorrow and been on it for months now. I realise I can leave out gluten if it helps my body I just cant at the moment. I intend to be gluten free very very soon. I'm on my case its just my gps aren't. I have Hashimotos thyroiditis, Sjorgrens and B12 deficiency. My body is very tired and very weak.

Thanks in advance

I hope you get some answers from your blood test and can then leave gluten behind you. Have you had a biopsy to look at your villi? This is more accurate than the blood test. My Sil has gut issues and was told he was coeliac, then he wasn't and then they didn't know on the basis of blood tests. I was under the impression that people with Hashimoto's were advised to be gluten free? Keep us posted.

Hi babsywabsy, I didn't know with hashimotos a good idea to be gluten free, I'll try to read up on that thank you. Getting bloods done is a good start. I'll keep you all posted. Thanking you
