Hi all I have just got my results from an intolerance test and am gluten, dairy (cow), wheat and yeast intolerant!!

I’m quite lucky that I love cooking so this will not throw me to bad as I always cook from scratch.

But does any one know where to get dairy free cheese?

And is there any sutch thing as yeast free wine 🍷

Thanks

Hi Rachford and well done for joining us, here's is an article about vegan cheese:

And good luck with your wine quest and any questions you have about all things gluten free, you're in good company on here, so you just ask away.

Jerry,

Ps, I can't guarantee that they're all gluten free just that some of them are, as I imagine tofu ones won't be OK.

I've seen someone make a vegan cheese by soaking pumpkin seeds for 2 hours and it looks like a cheesy topping.

Hi,

Please don't give up eating gluten until you've had a Coeliac blood test done by a fully qualified doctor. Simple to do now - but many people here will tell you how horrible it will be to do in the future, once you've been on a gluten free diet for a while (because gluten has to be reintroduced for the test to work).

Why do I mention it? Because I thought I was lactose intolerant and a bit anaemic. I was - but they were caused by my being a Coeliac! Luckily a clued up doctor did my test as part of some other routine tests. Didn't I get a surprise...!

As for Vegan cheese, look out for Violife, Cheezly, Vegusto and Sheeze - amongst others. Some you may find palatable, others quite disgusting! For my money, Violife is about the best and is widely available. In my area Tesco's, Sainsburys and Asda all sell the original flavour. If you find a reputable independent health food store, often a variety of other flavours will be stocked. Even Holland and Barrett and Amazon sell it.

Hope this helps.

I thought I’d post this product up. It’s an Irish soda bread mix which is gluten free.
