Dizzy Spells & being gluten free

I'm about 10 weeks into being 'gluten free' and seem to be having more dizzy spells in the morning on waking & then when I am out on a walk at lunchtime. My boyfriend is wondering if due to the gluten free diet I am missing out on something, could he be right? Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Widget

Dizzy spells could be down to a lot of different things, but I'm not sure that cutting out gluten would be one of them. It's probably a good idea to talk to your doctor about this.

It may not be connected to you but I have had the same due to low blood sugar, because I had low oestrogen that meant I had low blood sugar which made me very giddy, all the best!

As Penel said, if you are getting dizzy spells regularly, you should definitely see a doctor, it might not be anything serious, but you should get checked out to find the cause.

Are you are on a gluten free diet because you have chosen to to as a lifestyle choice, or because you have coeliac disease? if its because you have CD then the chances are, you are anaemic which can make make you feel dizzy.

Either way, get it checked out, I'm on calcium for the rest of my life due to having had CD for the best part of thirty years that was not diagnosed until about ten years ago.
