I never had anything like that. Why don't you get yourself some good probiotics to take and see if that helps. I foundI didn't feel great if I ate GF biscuits - well I usually ate too many at once if truth be told - so I apart from Schar bread I tended not to bother with commercially produced GF biscuits. I occasionally ate 'home made' GF cakes if I was out.

You could keep a food diary and record everything you eat and see if that gives you any clues about what might be making your tummy grumble.

I don't eat cakes and biscuits at all now though - the steroids I was given for my arthritis gave me steroid induced T2 diabetes and I am determined to turn it round - I've been testing my blood before and after meals and I know that bread, oatcakes, my favourite home made GF oat bran muffins and jacket potatoes all spike my blood sugar massively so I've cut them all out. Tough but worth it.

Hello I've not eaten anything premade gf ive been making stuff from scratch everyday I will say last night and tonight ive had cheese with dinner in or on and both nights my tummy has gurgled maybe its dairy as most of day I'm dairy free mostly. I'm going too start eating gluten again and push for another coeliac test but the endoscopy type as I have alot of digestive issues. Previous blood test was negative but i have extremely low ferritin i went gf of my own accord as doctor refused coeliac for test for another three months but I was and still am in agony.

Hello.

I've been gluten free for 2 years now (diagnosed coeliac) and had a terrible time before that. I still have a bloated tummy and wind and a very poor appetite. I don't eat 'meals' (as in cooked) and Im vegetarian...........I basically live on toast with choc spread, rice cakes with cheese and cereal.

I appreciate how you feel but can only suggest that the dietician is the best person to talk to.

Really hope you feel better soon.

Hi, Just a thought if you are g/f and vegetarian, you can eat lots of vegetables, pasta (home-made) and a whole bunch of other foods, which include flax seed fresh almonds, pistachios, etc, but I am not veggie however I love Pasta and I make a great Tuna pasta bake (own recipe) and I have made the sauce with rice milk/no soya, and rice flour although I did use fresh white goats cheese, as I live where goats milk and cheese is widely available.

It was just a thought for varying your diet, I also make a great cauliflower, carrot, onion and garlic mash, that is just delicious.

I hope you can now enjoy a few more great foods.

Take care.

Hi Alicat,

Unfortunately, I cant tolerate veggies..... nothing stays - runs through1 (hope you're not eating!) I coped with apples, pears some other fruits and dietician has me on low fibre diet now which means I can eat lots of veggies but not so many fruits!! Im struggling big time so am waiting to get another appointment with her. You sound adventurous in your cooking. I can't......used to live on salads and loved them. Ate eggs too.

Anyway, thankyou so much for all your advice. I'll bear in mind who to seek out for cookery lessons when I am feeling better!

Hello, have you considered that it could be dairy products in your diet causing problems. It's very common for newly diagnosed coeliacs to be lactose intolerant, until the gut has healed properly. Try cutting down on dairy foods in your diet, by, for example, getting dairy free spread such as Vitalite, and using Soya or Almond milk, etc. just to see if it makes any difference to you. Lactose intolerance can certainly cause problems with wind. Maybe you could discuss this with a dietician.

Thanks Rosi. You may well be right about this. I was tested and was clear but you may be right.

When I get "glutened", Benadryl usually helps the allergic reaction symptoms (bloating, swelling...) for me. I just try to stick with meat, veggies and fruits. You even have to be careful of what you cook your meat and veggies in. Most condiments and spices, etc, contain gluten. I have found this out the hard way! I am EXTREMELY sensitive so I get very sick and swell up head to toe, inside and out, even when I have only consumed a very little bit. This so far is all that has really worked.

I read this and your other thread. Please go back to your doctor and tell them your symptoms. They could indicate anything from the intestines to colon. So coeliac disease, crohns, colitis, colon cancer or plain old IBS. It is vital you insist someone sorts you out.
